the lack of a boundry on it makes it look really bad, and the buttons not being level with white bar is also a major fall, if thats what your aiming for, pull it off a bit better.
Theres real lack of color anywhere on the design, and all it really is, is a header with a few buttons, and the overuse of the "glass" effect screams newb in my face 100 times over.

with this not being the HoF, i'd like to stay as unbiased as possible, but you're just going to think i am being biased because pixel is my friend and you are not.Seawall said:

As this is not HoF, I will post regarding this wrong statement you have made about my design template without being knowingly insulting.
My website is not intended for the use of Graphic Designers, and is for the use of normal, every day people. Now, in this thread, you'll see, there has been a lot of normal, every day people post their comments about my design. Which is great, because these are the people I wish to attract, however, I do not wish to attract any graphic designers, it's not a website of perfection and not many are.
It's a fairly simple concept, when a graphic designer’s opinion is different to the general consensus anyway; you know there's something wrong with the designer. As they are supposed to be dynamic people, who cater for many tastes and represents a normal individual, just with a talent for making and amending graphics. To a degree, it is worrying that one should be so against a majority, unless, of course... they are angry, or trying to be a little 'different', so much so that they skew their real perception on the item in question

Pyraine, you seem to place Graphic Designers and Web Designers in the same role. A Graphic Designer designs graphics, if they are for use on a website then so be it. A Web Designer designs and creates websites, if they require Grpahics then so be it. They are not both the same.
The website is fine for its purpose. It's not as if it's going to be on a multi-thousand visitor domain name...
Oh and you forget, I am a Web Designer. And I commented earlier. Learn to read.

You have Coders and Designers, not a mixture, some people can maybe code better than others, so you get a hybrid who can do some of his own work, but in the world of freelance, which i joined a few months ago, some of the stuff they expect is unreal, so my mate tony, or illumin8 as hes know here does all my coding, i focus on design, giving the client a perfect result, with no lack of standard.

I like designing and coding websites as a hobby, my mates keep telling me i should run a company, but as ipixel is say, they expect un-real amounts of work from you, one client can request to see up to and over 12 templates at there desired requirements before they even except a contract with you, web designing mainly (sorry ipixel) falls under the line of the coder and not the designer, as you can get very good results without using a single image and alot of companies seem to worry more about the content of there site than the...lack of better word, someone help lol, pictures (and no!!!!! i am not talking about gaming sites!)
This is what I have found to be true in the three clients i have taken on, and I do not intend to take anymore on, seems in webdesign you only seem to make a real profit if your paid to maintain the site you built for them
but ill continue to make free ones for mates =`P

also i went to the other site, and sore your forums, where did you get that skin, or did you make it, lol wouldnt mind nabbing it (dont no much php =`P)

Image overlaps menu, I also like doing that, makes the site feel less static =`P

Far to much red, by far i mean farrrrrr
I think, thats glass effect?, and its over used, makes the site look tacky
where u have put CS:S at the end of the menu, I think you should lose it and have the menu go all the way across

iPixel, who said a website needs graphics? A graphic designer will mainly be involved in the design of graphics, whereas a coder will be involved in creating layout,backend,accessibility etc.
