what are you thinking... ISO is not a winrar file. there's no need for extraction... it's a CD Image. just burn the ISO directly!

or use daemon tools or alcohol 120% to mount it to a virtual drive

Very much doubting the capabilities of booting from a virtual drive unless you manage to load it into DOS.

He couldn't have been that dumb give him credit lol

from his first post... he said he "extracted the iso"
and from his jpg attachments.. the "extracted xp folder"
clearly he's burning that XP directory and not the iso :)

if you are putting it onto a cd/dvd drive that you've never used before, and is the first time isntallation of windows on that pc check the IDE cable on the cd drive thats what i did wrong, first check you burnt the cd correctly, secondly check the jumpers on the cd drive are set to master if you are just running one dvd drive and a HDD and then check the ide cables are plugged in correctly thats why mine wouldnt boot coz silly me hadnt plugged in the IDE cable properly =p just suggestion

but if you've used the drive fine before then im just silly :P

ALSO try downloading the windows tool that allows you to create 6 floppy disks that boot it up, change the boot order in the bios to boot from floppy first then dvd drive second, then put disk one , turn pc on hopefully it will go through each of the floppies then ask for the cd thats how i had to do mine

or nero burning rom...

Recorder->Burn Image and pick the iso...

after burning it, put the disc back in... and Recorder->Disc Info...

It should tell you the disc is (ISO9660 Bootable)

pfft, pirates! /me holds legit xp pro.

No-CDKey version of windows work by abusing the "Unattended Setup" feature of Win 2000 and above.

if you look at X:\i386\WINNT.SIF (where X is your cd drive) you will see the cd key listed there like this : (some other stuff may be there aswell)

[UserData]
ProductKey = "XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX"

for more info on unattended setup check out http://unattended.msfn.org (N00bs should _not_ go here, this requires actual brains.)
