what has happened to mir?

what has happened? its a game we all love and adore. why have we got all these new servers all the time and so many? cant we all just bunch together and make 1 big one?

i absolutely loved USA mir due to the mass of people playing.

all the little bits the fishing times at night, the mining for BIO when youve broke all your kit gemming to replace something , the refining, the pking at the stores , the hidden caves and other shite along with it, the bloody challenge in the bit below bw stores , the bast4rd lottery tickets, there was always something to entertain in a way , the AOC AST etc. the fun and enjoyment was there along with the grind and hustle.

i havent played in a while talking years now since last server and this is one of the main reasons, we have always got some weird odd server with these stupid ideas trying to copy big games where it actually works..

am i right in saying we just want this old mir nostalgia, but with a little added jazz? i always felt regular events, the GMs getting involved ingame regular, and pve / pvp contests would help the old experience alot.

maybe its nostalgia talking here but something is missing.. would love to hear peoples opinions, surely theres a way to do something.

Alot of people now days don't have the time to play a slow/long term server as we've all grown up, others now want instant gratificiation because of how modern games have been.

I don't believe a 1 server only would work to be honest, it also stifiles innovation/development.

Lazy entitled player base, Massive egos to appease or the sheep dont follow, lazy GM's, Greedy GM's, Poor game design, auto leveling features, Paid Leveling, RMT, Lazy copy paste content, Item sets every 10 levels, Lack of a good map maker, Lack of new monsters/items/skill images, Personal drops(mir3), PVP balance, Over buffed skills, Broke the trinity of DPS/Tank/Support. Lack of meaningful endgame content, Lack of difficult content that isnt just stat padded mobs, Lazy events, New servers every few weeks.

TLDR: shitty egotistical player base and incompetent GM's

Mir is played to make money now. The server owners and gms and the item gold selling players with farming bots. There used to be a contest for funniest banter or posts. Now its all low level trash talk insults and innuendo. I've seen 2 shouts that made me smile a bit in the past year.

Seems it would have to be Mohammed(peace etc) trying to save it now. One player said cant come boss pk cos prayer time.

There needs to be an understanding between something longer lasting. P69 were the days and that's what my personal server aim is, anyway.

Usa wasnt a good example of MIr but one thing comes to mind about it, the social aspect. Mir as a chatroom with something to do, someone said that ages ago. Group hunts, group chats, group fights. Groups to kill bosses not soloing. PVP wasnt attack anyone on same screen like now. You could say Mir was a social group game with fighting, now its a one person shooter solo game with child level insults.

Yeah for sure, I also find it crazy how p69 is still up and running after almost 23 years lol, and it got big content updates 3/4 months ago.

I am just guessing P69 got a bunch of folks who know themselves irl, maybe even related, who use the server as a thing to be together, chat with something to do.
I joined a guild once and found it was like I butted in on a family gathering as an outsider. They were nice to me but the feeling of being intruder never left me plus I like to solo a lot and kind of drifted away, got dropped eventually. You need some group(s) like that to run a server for years on end.
