If you've ever typed your email address ANYWHERE in the public domain... thats where. My LOMCN addy gets crap regulary because I used to have my addy on my website in full.

The most common sources for email spiders are:
1. Mailing lists (bought from companies where you've submitted info to)
2. Websites (spidering looking for addresses on sites)
3. Public directories (like the yellow pages)

there is loads of random spam sent to lotsa random @lomcn.co.uk addresses aswell. And i get them all cos of catchall, yay me >.<

Heck, posting to email lists will get you spam aswell, if the list is indexed on the web somewhere. I get spam to an email address i setup solely to send 1 message to a mailing list. (On my homeserver i add new email addresses rather than using filter rules, it makes splitting things easier)

Bebo, WAYN, and all those retarded little things wher eu sign up to sahre pictures or some crap, and you give them your username AND password, they access ur inbox, help themsevles to all the e-mail addresses and the cash rolls in.

I used to work in a job performing mail-outs for a company, and the marketing director would buy around 1000 postal addresses and 1000 E-mail Addresses a day to send thigns to. Postal addresses cost about £3 each E-mail addresses 50p or so.
