At work today i get a support call put through, the customer asks wheres the any key on my keyboard??
my reply: Excuse me sir? Could you explain what exactly you are trying to do?
Him: When i start my computer it keeps telling me to press the any key
Me: Sir do you realise you have a cd or dvd in your dvd drive?
Him: No no, all i need to know is where the any key is
Me: Yes sir, the reason for the machine asking you to press any key is becuase you have a bootable dvd or cd in your disk drive, in which will cause the machine to ask you to press the 'any key'. Remove the disk and your problem will be resolved.
Him: Ok brilliant but i still cant find the any key on my keyboard
Me: "getting slightly annoyed by now* Sir the machine does not have an 'any key' its simply asking you to push any of the keys on your keyboard if you would like to boot from the disk in the drive.
Him: Oh, ok thank you very much for your time
What a numpty, i was tempted to ask him to box the machine up send it back and never touch one again!! some people, thought i should share this one with lomcn.
