lol a D in english GCSE AND maths?

fair enough i got a D in maths but i upped that to a B in college. but english as well....is u stupid? ;p

tbh i ****ed around in school too much, aswell as doing english i also had to do welsh, i also went back to college with the intention of resitting my maths and english but i found it very difficult doing maths in english due to the fact id learnt maths all my life in welsh. and in my 2nd year i only lasted a couple of weeks doing my course so i dropped out of the english resit.

but ive has nights where so many things have broken down, i remember about 6months ago, we had no ice cream, no milkshakes, no fizzy drinks because wed ran out of C02 and all the drinks were flat.

and towards farphits comment, i was 15 when i sat my gcse's still a kid, i think i was 13 when i had to choose my subjects for gcse's, so if you think that everyone who fails them deserves to work in mcdonalds for the rest of their life your clearly an idiot. plus a pass is any grade, i passed all my gcse's i didnt fail any, so you clearly fail.

Too true.

It's people like you colonel who give adults the impression that all kids are mentally retarded. Just because you were 15 means nothing, i was 16 when i did mine, and i wasn't some retarded **** up like yourself.

I'm not a "retarded **** up" and yet I failed most of my GCSE's last year, I passed in maths and I.T and seeing as DiDa gives you a retarded ammount of GCSE grades...I still got into college, but you guys saying stuff like "oh if you failed your GCSE's you deserve to work in McDonalds" is complete horse ****.

But anyway being more on-topic...This whole A level ins McDonalds is retarded lol, I mean what would they actually teach you oO.

And slightly off topic again - I'm pretty sure adults don't look at me and think that i'm mentally retarded. - Oh and by fail I mean I didn't get a C+ grade in them, but in some of my maths coursework I got A*'s lol.

Do you want some sort of prize for that? To be totally honest getting all B's isn't something you should be shouting from the rooftops.

You learn maths through the till?.... All that you learn from a till is how to add and subtract - things which anyone (even young children) can do. If you learn maths skills by having at a till then I'd wonder how you managed to get the job. I doubt that working at a till is going to help you with quadratic equations, or differentiation, and hence it wouldn't help at all in an actual maths exam.

I also doubt that you learn English from serving people. What you learn are 'people skills' which I suppose are important, but have very little to do with actual English. I very much doubt that while serving people you analyse pieces of poetry, or read Shakespeare, and hence once again I doubt that your 'English' skills are going to dramatically improve.

I'm not entirely sure what is meant by McDonald's 'doing degrees'. Does it mean that they're going to be sponsoring schools (etc), or are they going to train their staff up to degree level? I think it's a pretty ridiculous idea (if it is the training one), and I have no idea how they would do it.

You learn no maths through working on a till.

I work in a supermarket type thing (Lidl) and you don't have to do any maths at all. Besides learning about the currency, the till does all the work for you ;o

I'm pretty sure maths is fairly universal. Stop making excuses for being a retard.

i think i was 13 when i had to choose my subjects for gcse's, so if you think that everyone who fails them deserves to work in mcdonalds for the rest of their life your clearly an idiot.

Wow talk about a non-sequitur. Not that you have any idea what that means, what with you being a retard and everything.

plus a pass is any grade, i passed all my gcse's i didnt fail any, so you clearly fail.

And they say New Labour's education policy hasn't lowered standards...
