Wierd Behaviour

Ive re formatted my comp earlier, and when i put it on i kept getttin error msgs sayin "your system is closing down" and showed various viruse, also ad awrae was runnin n displayed 350+ spy ware but couldnt delete as i had one minute to save stuff... since thn ive ran AVG n its deleted various viruses, but my comp is still acting funny, like taskmanger doesnt come up only displays it in my tray nr clock, also some programs i try install dnt finish and come up "not responding" its beguinning to p1ss me off.
If you have any advice plz let me know..

I use AVG free editon and Ad Aware SE..also im on winxp home edition..

ive tried to upload a pic by pressin ad attachment n usin http://www.imageshack.us/ but wen i click browse it crashes explorer -,-

make sure you are disconnected from the internet when you start it up.

That should help you get the time to delete all your adware and virus's from porn.

Does a box pop up and say " Shutdown in blah blah blah " with a clock goin down?

If so open run and type " cmd " then that should open a command promp thrn type " Shutdown -a " i think or -1 cant remember and that will stop the shutdown so u can work away on the comp.

It stops the 60 seconds shutdown message, can't you tell?

if im not mystaking its the sasser worm? if so then thers alot of progs to fix it just google

An updated version of AVG will help with the sasser worm. I had this problem before too. It sounds similar to my problem anyhow lol...

I tried installing WinXPHome SP2 after a reformat and had no end of problems. I'm not sure what exactly but it seems to conflict with AVG, it showed up loads of viruses for me, popped up the shutdown box and even blue screened out occassionally...

If you're using SP2 Webby, that could be your problem.

i had this problem when i 1st got my Broadband lol straight away so i just formated my pc and put my windoes xp firewall up before i went on the net and now its perfect

Right ive just got in from work and things seem fine SP2 is installin so i hope everythin is sorted now ty peepz for ya help.
