Wind-up laptop with Wi-Fi? Yes please!!

Why the hell would anyone not in a 3rd world coutnry want a wind up laptop? Yeah its cheap but the specs are dire. Its the bare bones of the laptops we get here, almost useless to me. Nice idea though.

Are you trying to be funny, or just plain ignorant? They're for poorer countries+markets... their sole purpose being to aid children and bridge the third world gap. A brilliant idea if I ever saw one.

As for WHY you'd want one. Ever took a laptop, or ANY digital device with you while trekking/camping/etc?

6 hours battery life just isn't enough. Hence why I opted for a Sony NW-HD5 [40 hour max battery life] versus a 4G iPod [12 hour max battery life].

With these things, you could potentially just use the wind-up function, and so eliminate the need for charging points altogether.

Of course, for those of you that never leave your home, the point in these would be hard to see.
