Why the hell would anyone not in a 3rd world coutnry want a wind up laptop? Yeah its cheap but the specs are dire. Its the bare bones of the laptops we get here, almost useless to me. Nice idea though.

As for WHY you'd want one. Ever took a laptop, or ANY digital device with you while trekking/camping/etc?

6 hours battery life just isn't enough. Hence why I opted for a Sony NW-HD5 [40 hour max battery life] versus a 4G iPod [12 hour max battery life].

With these things, you could potentially just use the wind-up function, and so eliminate the need for charging points altogether.

Of course, for those of you that never leave your home, the point in these would be hard to see.
