he means this... (my enter button does not work on lomcn for some reason so sorry if its little squashed up) ----- windows 8 was made for touch screen pc's/tablets/laptops and is basically the same as a windows phone. for computers there basically just the same as windows 7 with a few good tweaks here and there. although for mir3 is the total opisite. mir3 can only run in administrator mode and cannot be changed to window'ed mode as it cannot be changed to 16bit..... a good thing about windows 8.. you don't need drivers for anything at all it comes with the package......... cant really say much more about it as ive only had it for about 3 days.. so ask other people what they think of it..... /ben

all true but the one thing that pisses me off at the moment is the start menu, you don't have one in my eyes and the one that you could say is provided is more like an xbox dashboard and i hate xbox's -,-
So hard to navigate your way around without the start menu, need to get use to the interface and the **** they changed on it

Don't leave things stock, customise! A lot of features of Windows 8 are really good, but fine tune it to how you like it!

Windows 8 is fine and only the metro UI was made around touch screens not the whole darn OS you muppets.

Microsoft have intended people to use the 'metro' UI and charm bar for non touch screens too.

I'll be skipping this version i think and will wait until Windows 9 comes out - where Microsoft will inevitably bring back the traditional start menu (if they haven't been put out of business by the lack of sales from windows 8 that is)

Has anyone tried the new office 2013 yet? It also is horrid.
