I've always liked the way the pet system works on Project 69 (and also Arcadia if Scorp took it to that also).

For those who have never played it/arent aware, basically there is a quest line which increases in difficulty the further down the line you get (as all good quest lines should!) Examples of these quests are clear a ZT boss while being surrounded by zuma guardians/statues, find and kill certain bosses and return with the quest item or my personal favourite – take a handful of pet sheep from 1 end of a quest map to the other without any of them dieing. At the end of each quest you are awarded a licence.

In the safe zone/designated area there is an NPC who teleports you to a room that looks like the prison house in SW. You speak to the NPC who checks your licence and he will spawn mobs which are linked to that licence for you to tame, I.e. you have the basic licence, you can tame basic pets, so on and so forth! Or alternatively you can pay him a certain amount of money and he will spawn you upto 5 pets to save you from taming but this is costly (good little gold sink for lazy wizzes). Then you’re away.

Of course it can be adapted to Chronicles, although if it were upto me I would bring in the same set up as on p69 except make the mobs equivalent to others already ingame for that lvl. i.e. a lvl 28 quest licence spawns mobs equivalent in damage/hp as say black maggots. Just with a different mob so that you can see who has done the licences and who hasn’t. It was always a sign of respect to see someone with the top tier pets and commend them for completing the arduous task to get them!

wizards can already leave them in sz without the timer running down, doesnt this defy the point of wizards having to tame pets .... pets are very helpful and handy why should they just be made that easy to acquire? surely thats the whole point in it being a ballache to tame them ..... pain in the arse = reward .... shouldnt just be handed out imo

Like I mentioned in my last post, the only problem I have is that when I get disconnected I lose my pets.

Acquiring the pets is fine. It's not too easy and not too difficult.

I disagree, getting 5 yellow frogs at lvl 36, hell, even lvl 40 is pretty difficult near impossible, especially if you have 3 or foxes at the beginning of the cave when you walk through entrance.. I had this problem the other day, not like you can RT around. Takes the piss

I'm still sure that the lagout or disconnection issue can be helped, that's far more pressing than any other wizz pet issue. I'm ok with getting pets, leveling pets and the no timer decrease in sz. But the lagout issue for people hits everyone of all levels. If we can have some consideration for this it would be great. And it's a good idea to have a fee attached, 100k seems fair and would be another good way of taking gold out of the game. Thoughts admin?

Have a fee to reclaim your pets from the Pet Impound? I like the idea of this!

If I could go further with the idea, here are some of my suggestions:
- When logging back in after losing pets from a Disconnection/Lagout you get a message saying your pets are in the pound.
- Have a Pet Impound in certain towns - WoomyonCamp, BichonWall, PrajnaIsland
- The fee could scale depending on the characters level / number of pets / type of pets / pets level (delete as appropriate!)
- Additional: Have an Animal catcher NPC patrolling the towns. Not particularly for any function, but for a bit of fun! If you can chat to the NPC, he should be a dimwit! (extra programming required :disturbed:)

I like this idea.

They can only be reclaimed within a time frame, say 1 hour. (To stop people switching router off and getting them back when they next log on.)

Charge per pet.

You get the pets back at level 0 for say 100k each.

Or at whatever level they were for 500k each.

Let's drain some of that wiz gold!
