If you stand on 1 foot and hold an unpeeled orange in your left hand it increases chances by 47%.

I have a feeling it is completely random no matter what the coders says. Never is it easy to tame, one in 10 maybe are less than 10 second tames.

In the eyes of Mirians I would compare it to "dont stand in the drop, that's where the good stuff lands".

That one was made up to try and reduce drop jumping, but everything in mir seems to have a few things like this suggested.

When I first started refining on Euro, a guy in guild gave me a list of about 8 things I should do to increase success chances, stuff like testing on a Giant Keratoid, and having nothing (not even rt's pots etc) in bag, and having the bio arranged top left of bag and items bottom right, and all decending order of puri/dura.

Regardless, I still get stuff to 5-10% before taming, just incase.

Get it to low health. As low as possible without killing it. Then shock 5 times. After every 5 shocks hit it with a spell (I use vamp so it doesn't kill the mob) then just shock 5 times and hit it again. Repeat til tamed. From darkans magical book of Mir tricks. Works a treat.

I take the mob to 10%hp or less and tame, faster than taming them at full hp.

Logged on and actually played for couple hours last night for first time in 5-6 months.

Getting 5x BlueFrogs is still not even remotely fun, especially considering their only real use is killing IWTs for a solo player like myself.

Solo wiz who dont have every hour god sends to play to go tame pets then level them are put off (I am anyway) playing. Should be a taming room for the lower level pets for me personally.

Ofc things liek FT/Khaz etc, go get em... But standard trash mobs sub 45, just put them in a tame room so wiz can actually play the game solo at the drop of a hat, like every other class.

Yeah I must admit I was looking forward to the 44 pets but considering they're ranged... You have to be stood next to the mob you want them to attack before they actually attack. Kinda irritating .. Hunting orbs and a ranged fox mob hits me. My 5giantkektals just stand still til I get 3 spaces from the mob... Which kinda sucks when there are 4 other mobs now aggro'd by my presence... I think this needs looking into

If I was a Tao and I poisoned a mob from the other side of the screen my deva would start attacking. So why with my wizard pets does this not work in the same way. It's bad enough we don't have a way to recall the pets to ourselves if they get in trouble

Pets last 24hours in safezone.
If you are not able to leave the game running to take advantage of that then perhaps being a wizard and wanting to use pets even though you do not have the time to dedicate to that style of play may have been a poor choice in class for you?

I play sporadically, I may have a 4 hour stint or 2 hours with multiple log offs during that time for rl circumstances.
I chose not to use my wiz on the basis that I will not be able to play it to its advantages.

Perhaps time to reroll? Ill boost you to 40 even though your abit gobby.

I have little interest in the server, find it boring a tedious. I dont comment here to slag it off, i comment to try improve any mir server. I leveled to 46, i dont want to have to do it again.

When i rolled wiz at start of server, how was i to know id A)Not have 4 hours a day to burn, B) know wiz would depend on pets so much C)Know it would be such a **** on.

Your basically telling me i shouldnt play my only char because they require upwards of 4 hours to play properly.. lol.

personally I just feel that pets required exp to level should be halved. Would save time of farming for 30+ mins in WT lobby or wherever you go to level your pets...

I think wizard pets should be a luxury and in fact should only get pets that do less damage than a Taoists pets, CrystalSpider being tamable is a joke, plus they already have some of the hardest hitting spells in game.

Hard thing to balance really, EW or Proxu or whoever the high MC wiz are have no problem playing, cause theyve poured months of their life into their char. Where as lower level, or less kitted wizards struggle to do anything other than TU an archer.

Balance issue comes in where if you make pets too strong to help the lower levels, then when the higher levels get them along with thier Level3 spells and crazy MC, is overpowered.

Maybe an idea would be to create a level bracket where you can only tame pets within 5 levels of your own level. Would be alot easier to balance making specific pets for specific levels.

The probem here i dont think is the pets strength, its the effort and time it takes to get some that are any good. A warrior can log on and within 2minutes be potted and in KS killing it. A Taoist can log on and within 2 minutes be in KS killing it, or RME or whatever, a sin can do same with a wider variety of bosses, an archer im not sure about, dont really know anything about the class tbh. But a wiz has to get to fox, rt around to find isolated KekTals, slap it down, tame it without it dying, repeat this 4 more times, go to WT lobby or trapse around SV or rt to ST 4th for bugbats to level them, then your set, best time i think i personally did all this in was 30minutes.

Then factor in that these pets have a mind of their own and walk all over the place when attacking (So you need a big clearance to kill a boss), aswell as the times you may die trying to tame them and lose what youve tamed, aswell as when a warrior 2 hits you and you lose them all, or even if you tt/rt, they stay and get killed anyway, then add in that the only place i personally found theyre useful is IWT, which is one of the busiest places for hunting traffic on the game, all becomes a little soul destroying lol.

Dont get me wrong, wizards have their place, especially in group hunting and clearing mobs, eshock is one of the best skills in game, I hunt with guild instead of solo now cause its too much hard work for the reward i would get, just trying to make the game a better experience for a solo or low level wizard. Or one that isnt in a top 5 guild to get spoon fed.

Cant decide if im just moaning but hope you get my point.
