i'm at a complete loss to get this problem solved hope some 1 can help

i have 2 networked pc via a wired gigabit lan. both pc's disconect every 2-10 mins roughly for no bloody reason. its not a virus, the cable is in good working orger yet it still happens, any sugestions why?

im guessing crappy drivers or not enough power on 1 of the pc's

How do you know the cable is good.

tested it with my xeon machine to my old P4 1.5ghz machine, had that running for the past 8 months until i upgraded

Are you sure windows and the drivers were installed properly.

yep reinstalled both of them lastnight hoping to cure that proble and another 1

my db server and login server on 1 machine randomly droped out into oblivion (even on a local ip) but the reinstall cured that problem. yet the network fropping out into oblivion persists -.-

What do you mean, as a result of no network connection?

normaly once the m2server has fully loaded you will see somthing like

Connected (127.0.0.1:5600) Login Server

that would saty there for at most 5 mins then the login server and db server would disconect

I'm not familiar with the server software to know what issues could cause that.

Disconnect how? You mean the internet sharing or the actual connection says disconnected?

the other 1 is the problem, every couple of mins it comes up "network cable unpluged" and sure enough, the LEDs on the network cards show there is no conection.

im half tempted to take a stick of ram out of 1 of the pc's and find out if the card on the newest pc is buggered

Personally if the latest drives ain't helping... I'd try another card.

what conn speed you on? and what speeds can your cables support, i had same problem, i found out my connection was too fast for my cables. after i changed them it worked fine.
