Compensating for something, an inferority complex? Whenever I walk into the free weights section at my gym the beefcakes there seem to have some kind of complex, normally:

Over-aggressive (bullied at school, beaten by their father)
Short
Short downstairs (I can't say I've prooven this one, I don't go looking for them)
Terrible with women
Socially inept

The funny thing is that I think women notice it too, I've never seen a 'nice girl' with a beefcake.
