Isnt yimoogy suposed to have a chance at dropping some of the mir items aswell? like helm/belt/boots/neck, it always has on any other server, this si due to the lore around that particular boss, its described as a "failed" evilmir, or an aspirant to the role and as such can drop some of the smaller mir items.
This has been true on the official servers I played. Seems like not a bad idea for some incentive to kill the boss, however see points made below.
I have thought of this boss a fair bit but kept forgetting to post on it until I was reminded by this thread. Unless I have missed something this boss has been very rarely killed since the beginning of the server (probably the least killed boss on the server).
The main reason most likely being lost maps. If you take fox boss as your standard (similar tier boss and has a requirement to enter). You need 1 map per group in order to enter KR. Currently you would need 10 maps for a group to enter yims. Both have 2 floors to run. In many respects they are similar. 1 orb approx 2-2.5 mil, 10 maps 6-8 mil total. I would surmise that if you always took a full group to Yims you would always lose money.(sure it could be done with less but this then makes groups more useless and guild fights impossible etc etc. And why go to yims when you could just go kill jichon devil, collosus etc.
Suggestions:
1. Make the maps drop from the vipers and spiders (at a decent rate maybe similar to scales from oma's?) and make the maps required for KR, this opens up content for leveling (vipers) and will likely increase the number of maps available and therefore increase the chance of killing yims and guild fights and grouping etc. (basically makes it the same as foxes)
2. Increase yims drops and add chance for some of the mir items (I thought it was belt boots and helmet) Problem is that this promotes small group play and the maps will become even more expensive with them only available from crappy dropping, low exp monsters and would lead to people afking in here 12-24 hours a day to kill the boss as they did on some other servers due to the cost to get in. (worst option imo)
3. Exactly as above except vastly increase the map drop chance, 8 times perhaps (1/400 to 1/50) and drop from everything in there rather than just the one type of monster. (best option imo) gives a reason to kill yiims, promotes group play, keeps the uniqueness of this zone and increases the chances of guild battles for the boss.
