One of the main issues people currently have is power creep from hermits and the big level gaps and "catch up" for new players. The levelling has a high rate feeling with a low drop rate.
The exp from level 50+ does not increase much so levelling speed actually increases rather than slowing down, especially at levels 58-71 as the exp doesn't change but people are getting stat boosts from hermits so killing faster.
While this may not be massively popular, especially since people have already done the levels, the solution would be to alter the exp tables for level 51+. This would bring down the level gap massively, removing a big chunk of hermit stats/power creep these players have.
It would also mean the time it takes to get a drop etc, actually fits in with levelling speeds. People have done lair level 55-70 and ended up with 0 items due to various rng rates. People have out levelled snow but dont have/use the items dropped (more drops = more chance to refine them up to replace the low end weaker kit). Areas/bosses are being skipped as it is much faster/beneficial to level up for the hermit stats than find new items. Making the levelling take longer makes the current content last longer and item upgrades become more beneficial than levelling. People see they have been hunting an area for 15 levels without a drop and get disheartened, but with different exp tables this 15 levels would only been 4-5 and it doesnt seem so bad.
It also keeps the current content relevant and gives Jamie/Shane more time to focus on the current game than looking at the next area, the bosses are not being farmed on spawn yet and the items have not dropped a lot, yet people are levelling beyond these items.
I have added in some rough new figures, Given people have accumulated exp already, they would then be delevelled down to the new equivalent level and % a long with a hermit reset again.
Based on the current figures, and my proposed ones the highest level 76 would then become 62. 75 would be 61, 73/74 would be 60 etc (colour coded for easy comparison). Level 55-60 doesnt change too much its mainly the 60+ range that will look to drop back more "levels" but they will have still already have the exp difference gap.
Dont know how easy it would be for Jamie to alter peoples levels etc if he changes the exp tables so it may not be possible but its an idea to give the server some longevity. I feel the current rate people are levelling is extremely fast, 3 months in and we have a good amount of 60+ and a few 70+, this would of taken 6-12months to get 60+ on gsp
There are around 85 players level 52-58 who would drop1-2 levels from this change, and there are 30 or so on server who are level 60+ that may drop 3+ levels. My char is level 63 and would drop to level 57.
