One of the main issues people currently have is power creep from hermits and the big level gaps and "catch up" for new players. The levelling has a high rate feeling with a low drop rate.

The exp from level 50+ does not increase much so levelling speed actually increases rather than slowing down, especially at levels 58-71 as the exp doesn't change but people are getting stat boosts from hermits so killing faster.

While this may not be massively popular, especially since people have already done the levels, the solution would be to alter the exp tables for level 51+. This would bring down the level gap massively, removing a big chunk of hermit stats/power creep these players have.
It would also mean the time it takes to get a drop etc, actually fits in with levelling speeds. People have done lair level 55-70 and ended up with 0 items due to various rng rates. People have out levelled snow but dont have/use the items dropped (more drops = more chance to refine them up to replace the low end weaker kit). Areas/bosses are being skipped as it is much faster/beneficial to level up for the hermit stats than find new items. Making the levelling take longer makes the current content last longer and item upgrades become more beneficial than levelling. People see they have been hunting an area for 15 levels without a drop and get disheartened, but with different exp tables this 15 levels would only been 4-5 and it doesnt seem so bad.

It also keeps the current content relevant and gives Jamie/Shane more time to focus on the current game than looking at the next area, the bosses are not being farmed on spawn yet and the items have not dropped a lot, yet people are levelling beyond these items.

I have added in some rough new figures, Given people have accumulated exp already, they would then be delevelled down to the new equivalent level and % a long with a hermit reset again.

Based on the current figures, and my proposed ones the highest level 76 would then become 62. 75 would be 61, 73/74 would be 60 etc (colour coded for easy comparison). Level 55-60 doesnt change too much its mainly the 60+ range that will look to drop back more "levels" but they will have still already have the exp difference gap.

Dont know how easy it would be for Jamie to alter peoples levels etc if he changes the exp tables so it may not be possible but its an idea to give the server some longevity. I feel the current rate people are levelling is extremely fast, 3 months in and we have a good amount of 60+ and a few 70+, this would of taken 6-12months to get 60+ on gsp

There are around 85 players level 52-58 who would drop1-2 levels from this change, and there are 30 or so on server who are level 60+ that may drop 3+ levels. My char is level 63 and would drop to level 57.

This would probably prove a hard pill to swallow at first, no one likes to think their achievements are going to be wiped away.

But I do believe some BIG increases in EXP are going to be vital if we're not going to outlevel the content forcing future updates to become rushed. I would rather this be considered sooner than later, most of the highest levels are multis anyway so they will continue the grind regardless of losing 5-6 levels or not.

While I agree something needs to be done, those numbers are probably too far the other way. That last level at 600 billion would require 300,000 banyo mobs assuming no deminishing returns and 100% exp buff. That’s 208 days solid grind for 1 level assuming you can kill an average of 1 per minute.

Even mobs in the latest Korean content aren’t dishing out 2-3 million exp each before buffs. That would be an insanely heavy grind.

I may be drunk but would hermit points only being available till level 58 - 60 not sort out a large chunk of the problem?

Maybe the problem is our base exp for mobs before buffs is possibly too high? Maybe some are even too low? I don't have the in game numbers to hand so please correct me if I am wrong.

The levels are accurate as Jamie explained how he captured the data.

Here are some of the KR numbers, although keep in mind that some of these might be from the rework the date on Banyo on the site is 03/09/2009, but it doesn't say if its been modified since.

Any warrior fancy tanking that ?

Also yea the base exp on mobs matches GSP.

Thanks for confirming, I didn't know off the top of my head.

Yeah those last two are the hardest bosses in the game at the moment.

For me it's better than catch up solutions to keep the server low-mid rate, and don't scare newcomers with lvls 80 after just 2 months on live.

Anyway, if jaimie is aiming for high end content for lvls 80-85 it's ok as it is, but maybe he should explain it clear somewhere for the new ppl that join the server.

Best thread i have seen in a while on here, i'm really curious to see a reply from Jamie and see what are his toughts on this... this is actually something that maybe some people might not agree on but i think we can all agree it's for the health of the server

People are already on verge of quitting lol doing this will just nail the grave.

Sounds good in theory just like hermit update but too late to implement.

Just cap leveling at 80 tbh until more people catch up

we will look at smoothing out the EXP from 40-72. might be able to test it soon on the test server and post up the table.

As a server owner in the past.

This is 100% a bad idea.

Although peoples strength/power will all be relative and nothing is actually lost. (Except a few numbers)

The average mir players IQ is below that of a retarded starfish and their tiny little brains will be unable to comprehend this.

This will cause mass rage quits and the biggest baby bitch fits you have ever seen in your life.

Edit - hell, do it. It will make the forums interesting for a day or too.

My thought process exactly.

It's why I'm tempted to do it, just for the forums.

£50 if you do it.

Edit - My advice...

It's done now, and there's nothing you can do about it. I'd work on smoothing out the lower levels and ensuring people don't run away too much at the top end.

Any sort of massive swing change now would just cause too much aggro, as nothing you do will ever be right. I made the same mistakes with my server.

Take all the cries/moans with a pinch of salt, as your obviously doing something right as you have 300+ users.
