this is exactly why mir isnt as much fun for a lot of people any more.
people with no jobs, multis and unhelped addicts level to get an advantage in teh first week. Being ahead of everyone else, getting the kit and skills IS an advantage.
They get a grip on the server and this puts many people off very soon because they cannot compete.
IF the server looks like lasting, many of them will sell up and leave(which is why they do this)
Manage the server properly, hold some of the new content back adn release capped maps that make it possible for the average player to catch up. Put a level cap on and lift ti when 30% players reach 40. There must be ways to level out the playing field before end game.
Playing for the fights is lies when your enemy is 5 or more levels lower.
Playing for the PK gets rid of many too.
Do you want steady income from a lot of players or a lot from a few that drops off after a few weeks?
Make it so whoever puts in for a guild war takes 5% more damage. and another 2% for every guild war on top of the first. If player is yellow 5% more damage red 30%. It cant be that hard to point mir back to the way everyone remembers with good fights because everyone was around same level instead of teh handful impossibly far ahead.

Every single mir has been the same , put the effort in get rewarded

every game is like that actually , if you play more and invest more time , why shouldn’t you be stronger than everyone else ?

Retards wanting everything handed to them on a silver platter.

I think cobra kind of responds to this for me, anything in life is the same including gaming, the more you put in the more you get back, i appreciate that not everyone can put in the same amount of time, but this shouldnt take away from those who do put in more time.

I also agree with some of your points and we have to some degree done this. Leveling gets very hard after a certain point which means only the small percentage of hardcore players will keep leveling, and even then, if you played 24/7 you still probably wouldnt catch these people up.

But items, well we all know mir enough to know thats just RNG. so casuals, hardcores, doesnt matter, 1 lucky drop can have you set for your time on the server.

Problem is a lot of servers have had top bosses dropping the top kit meaning people who need the first few weeks get to the content first and then you have to pk people with far higher stars than you just to get the kit you need to pk the people with higher stats than you.

Where as on euro I got a mirroring book from a giant work which was 80m at the time allowing me to fully kit up a character. Even when oks and em came out you could still get tele rings etc from wt, zt dropped slayers pro rings, mtk dropped sowg although rarely.

Where as lately on these servers each new boss or cave bought out brings out new kits with it that pretty much only drop from new caves meaning ur in tier 3 kit getting 2 hit by people in tier 4 kit because you need to kill them to get that boss to get that kit.

Personally I'm not hardcore player I'm not gonna put in 12 hours a day so I appreciate I'm not gonna be killing the Oma kings or the evil mirs from euro, so long as people who don't play 12 hours a day can still have some content to hunt without getting steam rolled by people who multi / nerd it it will massively help retain users

This is how i feel,

But i think you have to find the balance, so maybe the best item wont drop from normal mobs, but some valuable ones do (like you said with mirroring) meaning that you may not get the item you are looking for drop, but with the collection of items you gathered you can buy it now.

So it does balance out, and there are ample opportunities for the more casual to make good gold.

just put Caves in that takes a while to complete but are worth hunting. Instead of big guilds learning the timers and just rting round in a big group smashing everything.

Ala zt on euro Mir with the archers, took absolutely ages in the beginning but dropped good. 3-4 long run caves plus a lot of mid tier bosses and a few pk easy to get to caves - win.

Not having a server wide shout announcing when a boss has spawned would help casuals too if they happen to stumble across 1 on a whim

Definitely agree with this.

Even though you will always get the best guilds, spawn camping the best bosses.
But this is where a recall set comes in handy! Enemy guild recalls in just before spawn and a massive fight at a KR where you can't rt = fun.

This only happens for one boss currently.

Is that you saying recall sets are in game?
Or are you saying there's only one good boss worth killing?

Or, saying there's only one global shout for a boss?
Are you retard ? how come only one boss worth killing ;/
he means only 1 boss does a global shout when it spawn

Personally I don't think any bosses will be worth killing at level 1 ;).
I wasn't the one who asked the question about the global shout, just said i agreed with it.
Sorry. am. retard.

What I always find frustrating is that the majority of dungeons and caves can be RTed through without any trouble, the floors are so empty you can just run through and make it to the boss without any work.

I always preferred the kings room being locked either behind a kill wall or a task. No just rocking up and grabbing the boss, actually have to organise it as a guild / group and work towards gaining access.

Not having a server wide shout announcing when a boss has spawned would help casuals too if they happen to stumble across 1 on a whim

+1 global shouts and set timers for bosses spawning always a problem in Mir 2. See above, KR's should be locked behind a task. If you don't complete the task the KR stays closed.

Are you some kind of mir communist? You sound like those who criticize hard working people for their success.

Just do a statue and a title. Ezpz

you mean like my picture? :friendly_wink:

I can understand some people thinking that they would never get high level.
Its possible, in the years mir2 ran for, I had taken time out of game, had a baby, moved house, even working some of the years. some times if I was ready for work n had plenty of time I'd log on for 30mins to an hr b4 work then later in the evening, when my time was free.
It all depends what your goals are ingame. I like leveling hense why I came highest ingame on mir2.
while every1 esle was standing in town chatting or waiting and fighting for boss's, I was leveling.
oh and I didnt have the best kit in game either, ask any1 who remembers me, my kit was ok but no way near as good as others.

never say never cos anything is possible.
btw I not planning on geeking to 40 1st, I've been there, done that (to 50) and got the statue :k

I was considering making a "server first 40" achievement. No special rewards, but just to have the achievement, whos up for the race?

-Apocalypse Team
