ok,

I was playin a few games and music on my other pc.
i turnt it off and came back to it after a hour, I turn it on it says Windows XP with the Blue Bar moving and straight away it flashes with a blue screen and then restarts the pc. It keeps doin this and their is know way around it.
I have tried putting it in safe mode but it just crashes and switches off, I have never had any problems wid tha pc and I wasnt doing anything that could mess up da pc.

I cant even format the hard drive because when I put the recovery CD in it says Press F to format your HD and then it comes up with a Blue screen telling me my Hard drive configuration is corupt.. lol

Is there anyway around this? I wasnt really supose to be on the pc and it has my sis's course work on it ¬.¬

Any help would be much appriciated!!

thx

Congrats on ****ing up your sisters work..

Firstly if you want to save her work why would you format it?..

Secondly you could try use the windows xp recovery mode thats on the XP CD. I'd personally suggest moving the HDD to your own pc setting it as a slave and praying to go you haven't destroyed the HDD and can take whatever files you need off it

Well I dont want to format the HD b4 I have backed up the work..

I do have a Windows XP Pro Fresh CD,

I was thinking I could make another partion using the XP CD and when its fully installed I can go in the WINDOWS folder etc and get the files back.

Could that work lol? Honestly shes doin her nut at me right now xD

Do what Milo said, slave the HDD under another PC and recover the files that way.

Ofcourse if theres something improtant there which you cannot loose, I strongly advise you to speak to an IT professional and let him direct you to someone who can diagnose the problem and then act appropriately. The HDD just might need a change of electronics (cheapish and easy to do) or the heads may have crashed (HDD usually not reusable but data recovery possible).

A format deletes everything off the hdd

A quick format deletes all the files but still allows you to recover them using different software but theres nothing stopping the new XP install from overwrite the data you want to recover.

Read up on slaving a drive..
