People who are making money from somthing that they leaglly dont own is fraud, wether it be from donations or p2p. People who donate to these servers for items are idiots and really need there heads looking at.
The whole concept of the server files was to bring a spread out community together and as so rightly pointed out any server keeping up with the times can make that high player count.
The server files are free, the work that goes into them maybe that of the owners of the servers. The whole project of mir was supposed to be share and share a like and that no longer happens and to be honest if Mir3 died then so be it. Theres to many stuckup server owners that think they are better than the rest and are willing to rip people off for a few pixels.

Right I'm going to get banned because I'm not aloud on here but I feel I need to have my voice heard, Alot of people think I was one of the main people who got donations from people.

If MasterQ spoke up and said that he was actually guessing when him a Dumachi started spreading that I opened servers for donations things might be different. The reason I had multiple server was because either I couldnt afford to pay the box wich then ment I had to get another one or my servers were being attacked.
I did make RNDpro and ran it for 2-3 months at this stage there was no donation system, I then gave the files to rage to run and we could not afford to run it so we had the donation idea. It was actually players of the server that came up with the donation idea because they liked the server and didnt want it to go down.
If you remember I made you GM as it was my server at the time lol

I much prefer making servers then running them but I also dont like making a server for it not to be online, at first donations were ok and not many people did it but it now seems that servers are being made purely for donations and more and more people are doing it.
I now play mir3 servers and help everyone who asks me for help. Dreamscape will tell you, Sam will tell you, heck half the people on lomcn have asked me for help at one stage... Even tho I was banned I dont hold grudes against the mir community and I still try to help them.
Mir3 servers I have played have been ruined by donations and they also seem to be online just for donations, High rate servers that have high rate stats. Its quite pointless really because everyone gets 1 hitted.
In a nut shell, I got banned from here for making servers for donations, I never got more then £50 in donations where as other servers such as Avenge and RNDpro have made over £500. I know for a fact RNDpro made over £5000. It was my files I helped manage it but I did not see a penny of it.
All servers who offer donations should be deleted or players should be warned. - Stop the Donation system before it ruins Mir3

Although I have moaned about "donation only" servers in the past, they do actually fill a niche. Some people PREFER to play on a server where you can buy items so that they can use their cash to help with a game that they can't do in the time they have spare.
Look @ RND Pro, it was clearly a donation for items server, but it also had a large (for Mir 3) Userbase. Avenge and many other servers that have gone online recently have gone online offering donations for items.. BUT the likes of Avenge have stayed online, and have PROVEN that it isn't about making quick cash.
If RAGE makes a server that will stay online (which he is trying to do) then the people who play it understand that he WILL be "selling" items on that server. If people are willing to pay, its because they want that type of server, and RAGE should not be punished for supplying what people want.
The issue I believe should be against servers that go online, accept donations then shut down within a month or two, these are the servers and users of lomcn that should be banned.

Now the hole Item for donations, this is a scam just to make money off people plain and simple. Yes i will offer the option for people to donate to my server, but its not an esential thing for me. As i pay for the net and the parts for my machine.
As of next year as well, because of the company i work for I will also have a second line comming into the house that i dont pay for. That will be 10mb no limit. So as you can see not all servers need donations, but do have it in place for if there players like to show there apprsiation to the server creators.
The thing is though, donations for items does not need to be done in anyway. Just look at xtreme, they offer ingame currency for donations and this is there way of showing there community tha they care about them. This balances out the whole donation thing with them as everyone is still equal when it comes to it and so no one is getting and advantage.
But donation for items should not be allowed to advertise untill they have been running for 6month+ and have kept the server up from there own pockets and not anyone elses.
And on that note, cause about 90% of the forum are reading this and yes this is a bit off topic.
We are offering from £10 - £30 for players scripts, all scipts purchased will become part of the server and will have recognition to that player for creating it. So why not be apart of the peoples server, more information comming to our website soon.

Please dont mention Extreme's donation system as a non biased "we're not in it for the money" server. I admit extreme is a dedicated server which is rarely offline but the fact is you HAVE to donate in order to get integs, even if it is only a fiver. When i played taral i paid a tenner and it sorted my skills to lvl 6 i think. It also sorted a m8 of mines kit. But saying that they have a donation system to balance the server commnunity is ridiculous.
ps - how do i go about getting 30£ for scripts? i would be v interested in this.
i never donated on a server from a simple reason i got a credit card but not paypal or anything else (i.e. money bookers) also i had lvl 8 skills on Riddick (Taral) and my wiz that i still have he probably would have lvl 8 skills as i got 15k+ integrals and never donated
, usually 'donate' on SMS which no server has....so i cant donate wouldnt donate for some integral but for items its really crap to buy items with cash...
I like that... and that's why I want to give ANY server a chance... If I smell crazy donations, that means ad removal...
I especially don't like $ for uber items/kit. However, $ for personalised item is nice with a little bit of added stats.
I thought I already checked them out... I am almost done with the leo's regular server siggy thing. Can we talk privately about this? Maybe there's something we can work together...
That would be down to the type of script and how well it works and if it benifits the server on a whole or on an indervidual status.
And as for the integ situation at xtreme, i leveled all my spells using integ collected. Which on my wiz didn't take very long.

The Server Count is a PHP image created from a text file that is FTP'd using the program I have released on here.
The Server/Gate/Port Status is another group of PHP images
The Char Stats are done using a program that I made and use, but is not yet good enough for general release.
And on topic..
I am not saying I agree with it, or would do it, but.. Supply and Demand.. if people want to buy items, people will sell them, look @ the gold and items that are being offered from the Official Mir2, people are making serious profit from that, and that doesn't even cost them anything other than time. Nobody complains about that, give Rage a chance, if he screws people over, then fair enough, take him to task.

For three agreed if people donate its their choice to make the transaction i don't think rage had a gun to their head.
