Chipped Wii

Anyone chipped their Wii?

Just bought a chip for mine, £27 and a kid at work whose chipped his is going to fit it.
Just wondering if anyone else has bothered to chip theirs? Know any places to download games? I;m guessing Usenet will be my best option!

just download homebrew and it allows you to play copied games. done it to mine and i jus download games off newzbin.

Oh well, I have the chip now so will just use that! Not as if £27 is going to break my bank! lol

I really need to buy a wii, i will probably chip it too. The only console i wouldn't chip is my xbox 360.

Hmmm not too sure about the xbox.

I dont even use my Wii, mainly cos I wont buy games for it as I will never play them!

WHereas my xbox I use often, so never been tempted to chip it incase it ****s up!

Get it done, best thing you will ever do. You can`t even get banned these days off live as there is firmware to unban now, also people say the flashed drive makes your XBOX burn out, this is a load of crap, it was a problem Microsoft had when the released the XBOX, hence the extended guarantee, aslong as you take extra precautions like adding and external fan like i have you will have no problems.

If you get the newest XBOX 360 now they have a new drive in them that cannot be flashed at present, wont belong before this is cracked though.

i got mine chipped, but sent it off to get it proffesionaly done, would never trust a m8 with it.

What the hell do you need the chip for?

All the trouble of opening and modding the system (and the risk) when you can just run the homebrew software from an SD card

Thats just the thing, xboxs have so many problems with the red lights, so I dont really want to risk it.

I can also justify paying for games on my Xbox as I will play them.

I have an old console that is banned yes, but brought another to get on live ages ago. I've checked most of the xbox dev forums that I know and can't see a way to "unban" consoles from live.

Ye, but there a new chips that just slide onto the board, so if you break your WII you can make it look like you never been inside it.

The chip I bought just clips on.

The one he bought to chip his own wii he had to solder it onto the board.

Its a fun console, nothing more nothing else.
I use my xbox for the whole gaming experience.

wii's are fun wen 2+ ppl play, only time i ever use mine. it is a fun console, and i play games to have fun.

homebrew took about 5 mins for me to put on, and had to borrow zelda, but can play dvds on it now too.
