Man its going to be huge problem. Taxi prices will double as will bus services. In the end people wont want to use a taxi so they will all close and the buses are already entering administration. Its a sad time to be a motorist.
my bus tickets going up in price in a week :'(, bad times! £15 for anywhere in sussex was too good to be true!
I got a 1.1 Ford Focus, seems to be pretty nice on Petrol for me, £40 gets me 15-20 miles a day for a week (Roughly)...bearing in mind this is me driving incredibly sensibly and at the highest gear the car likes lol...i use to drive crazy but it just drained my tank
Considering to fork out the extra amount to learn how to ride a Motorbike as they seem to be cheap to run according to my mates lol...at least in comparison to a Car...plus no traffic :P
Don't bother as the cost of Diesel to the cost of petrol, works out the same in MPG.A 1.1 Focus? I'm guessing you mean Fiesta?
My 1.8 Focus drinks petrol like it's water. I want to get a diesel asap.

I have a 1.7 Dti and my mate has the equivalent on a 1.6, I get less diesel at 1.45pl and he gets 1.36pl to £10 in order for me to get the same pl as him I have to put in £13 at which I get more MPG, but I certainly don't at the same cost and my engine is in better condition that his as well.Depends what MPG you get from the car. Some are a lot better than others.

I'm sorry what? lol
Do you know what MPG you get in your car though?
Yes I do and I also know what my mate gets as well, this is why we were able to test this and yes we did test this. I get less pl compared to him, as I pay more on Diesel, but the comparison at the same cost was the same as I got less diesel. I have to pay more for diesel to get more MPG if I matched him on pl and not price, then yes I do get more MPG.
Break down of it:
Petrol
£1.36pl = 7.3l at £10
Diesel
£1.45pl = 6.8l at £10
Tai if you can't work out from that, that you have to pay more to get more MPG in a diesel than petrol, then don't bother getting a diesel as at the moment it does cost more.
The only benefit I get at the moment from owning a diesel, is the cheap road tax due to low CO2
