My gf's browser is running crap, she refused to use anything other than IE, but still itr shouldnt be this bad.

It freezes alot and is quite slow, her RAM is fine and CPU is always low.

Iv read around and it says i might need to use a registry fixer rather than cleaner... any ideas or opinions please?

CCleaner will "help" but doubt it'll fix your problem, if you've ****ed your registry up, I bid you good luck. However, she may be your typical blonde: run a virus and malware scan.

Microsoft have some quite good online doctor options so its best to browse their site.
I would also have a look at Microsoft Security essentials and defender. Perhaps not as strong as some programs around but I'm pretty sure if anyone knows what registry settings are required, it's Microsoft.

IE9 is actually a very good browser with developer tools and far more CSS compliance than it's predecessors. I use it with Windows 7 Pro on 3 machines and never had any problems. There is even a 32 and 64 biit version.

Not for a standard user, such as his girlfriend. Seriously, consider getting Chrome, it's impossible to go wrong with and it's designed by idiots, for idiots! (Some of you may get this reference)
