why is most servers created are low rates ?
i think most server creators are very lazy to create a high rate and change drop files high stats .. etc
whats point of making a low rate without doing anything ? just download the files and put it online
and claim its best server been made .. =\

check 3h
check oldskool
check 4h ( though its low/med rate , but been hard worked on ! )

i hope some people make a high rate for us to play at.

High rate is only way to save mir lol, low rates will always suck :/ if ben brought back oldskool and kept it like FH with only exp pots and stuff in gameshop or no gameshop at all it would be epic and loads would join it lol.

There's obviously a demand for it and has been for a while, but having so many of them at the same time just defeats the object, so I don't particularly understand it either.

We need one low rate to rule them all, preferably Ruby Files. Until then the community will be segregated on several piss poor servers. Also high-rates are turd and are the bane of any MMO.

I don't think it defeats the object Tai, surely more servers equals more ideas and content. It's this content and not just a billion exp per kill that keeps people interested.
It needs to be remembered that not everyone is an "end game" type player that wants best kit in 5 mins and killing the toughest boss every 5 mins, it's the journey of getting there and getting nice items along the way that makes Mir the addictive game that it is.
One more kill, one more mm on that exp bar before bed !

A highrate doesnt have to be "endgame" in 5mins, and killing the toughest boss every 5minutes. it completely depends on the balance and ratio's behind the high numbers....

its attitudes and narrow minds like your's that is killing this game, euro is gone move on, and quite franky it was awful so god knows why your all so obsessed with it.

You've missed the point completely. Euro clones don't have "ideas and content" worth spreading people out over x amount of servers. Like I said, it defeats the object of what a "euro clone" is all about.

Euro's gone but the official and best is ever evolving. High rates are slap-dash for people who want to see massive numbers on their stats. Other than that it's a pointless rate, it doesn't suit Mir at all...never has.

Attitudes and narrow minds like mine ?
You know zip about me my friend and less about the server I'm creating so don't start offering abuse.

The op was talking about low rate primarily and not simply clones.
Didn't you see my "more ideas, more content" line. Might be a clue as to where I'm going with mine. If I wanted to play a clone and not bother with new content then I'd play Eternal's. Clearly a well built server using Ruby files but following the Wemade line.
That said, I don't play at all, I'm more interested in working on the files.

Now Ruby files are mainly where all these so called clones are coming from. People want to try their own server so they start with the base setup and move on from there. Ruby files need work so this moving on part is harder than we'd like and therefore takes time. If all servers start here, it's obvious they're likely to be similar at the beginning.

I have loads of ideas I'm working on for mine but without guides to 95% of the files, trial and error takes time. Look at the questions I ask in the Ruby sections, many unanswered so it's hard to progress. That's not a criticism btw.

He's talking about euro clones and that's what I was replying to.

he said hes sick of making high rates he didnt say am sick of making servers ..
well i meant im sick of making servers in general

nightscare kinda said the reasons why, apart from the romanian bit, its not just 1 group of players, its the majority of them regardless of where they are from lol

i ran mir servers for fun, and its not fun any more, so why would i keep doing it? and before anyone makes a comment about money, theres more to life than money, and i never done it for the money in the 1st place. i genuinely enjoyed developing and running a mir server, but that joy has been sucked out of it from moany ungrateful fags. plus its just boring now
