as far as my rushed check of the forums i could not find my problem or a way to fix it.

i done the patcher thing (after clicking the mir2.exe ) and it downloaded all the files, now when i click ok or done in the bottom right corner the box just disappears and nothing starts up. i have tried to run as admin and tried xp compatibility mode. non of them changed anything.

please help me asap i have 45mins to have a look at the server lol.

Rename mir2.dat to mir2.exe and run that. Let us know what happens

I can't screenshot ATM I'm in work but I can explain it better. The box that appears as soon as you use the mir2.exe. With the patcher and some news in it. When the patcher has finished I click "ok" and the whole thing just disappears with nothing else starting up. I even waited for a few mins.

d1craig: you sure your virus scanner isnt detecting the dat file as a virus (false positive) and removing it?

I am pretty sure it isn't removing the .dat file I have the folder open while trying to load the game and it doesn't move or disappear. I will be trying again tnite to see if I can play.

I don't get any notification if it is removing my .dat file so ill have another look tnite. But I have tried the "change it to a .exe file" and used that and that doesn't work either.

as for your problem:
if you disable virus scanner and it still wont run (i'm not recommending running without virus scanner but as a short test well it helps pinpoint problems),
renaming .dat to exe doesnt work,
do you get any errors in the !debug.txt file? (if you dont have a !debug.txt file then make one in same location as your mir2.exe and try again )

I have tried disabling the virus scanner. It didn't work. Turned off my turbo boost thing aswell ( shuts down non essential services for gaming) with no success lol.

I don't have that debug file so ill make it and see what it says.

sorry man only jus tgot on, i was in work all day.

yes i mad ethe debug file and then ran the mir2.exe a few times having the problem i previously had. nothing appears in the debug file

someone else told me to try making my screen to something the game supports but that didnt work either, i tried 1024x768 and 800x600. i have another server on this computer that can change my screen resolution, so im not sure its something i can change.

EDIT - what files should be in my main folder? i have seen people saying change the res of your game from a file in that folder, but nothing i have in that folder has anything close to a resolution in there.

i noticed after extractring it again that there where some errors (144 of them to be precise) alot of files could not be opened.

i have some files in the resource folder, are they meant to be in other folders aswell?

Did u get this working as a m8 is having the same problem after he clicks ok after the patcher it just does nothing :/ we have tried all sufggested here even a few other things like reinstalling direct x updating windows/IE redownloaded and installed twice but still having same problem any more ideas ?

right click the game icon and run as administrator? this solved my problem with missing files, and might in turn solve your main problem.....

Yes I got it working just before I went to bed last night. It was my malware program. I had done what I thought was turning it off plenty of times but it must have been still running.

My malware thing is - iobit malware fighter.

I just turned all the protection things off and the game worked fine.

I feel like a right dick head because everything pointed to that but I must have turned my malware notifications off lol.
