So, it seems the migration over to the new dedicated server based in London has been successful, also the CPU readings have massively dropped which is great news.

some of these fixes happened earlier in the week but we haven't have a chance to post until now:

- Reduced Left/Right Guard Attack speed.
- Reduced Gang/Bat Spider walk speed.
- Fix for being able to attack others pets on peace.
- Increased chance of success on purification.
- Fix for Tbolt and FlameDis attack.
- Fix for Deva and Shinny being used at the same time.
- Fix for Pets attacking Masters when poisoned.
- "S" now opens the skill window.
- Fix for RightGuard displaying Larva and EvilMir firebang effects.
- Fix for KS getting stuck after half health.
- Repair and Special repair now open your bag when clicked on.
- Hallucination now automatically uses amulets.
- Fix for blessed armour showing incorrect stats.
- New AI for BoneLord.
- Fix for BoneLord spawning mobs every 20 seconds.
- Fix for OmaKing doing a 800*600 size attack instead of full res.
- Increased hit chance for Mirroring.
- Removed ViperMaze
- Migration of server to new dedi.

I imagine there is a bunch of other stuff, but I thought it was worth posting just to show how busy we have been :).

Thanks all for reporting and supporting.

Can you make an inverted interface for when I play standing on me head?

Other than that I'm desperately awaiting the release of the server files. It's an amazing job you guys have done with this and you've managed to inspire the LOMCN community to re-participate. I finally managed to get on the server the other day as I've had no internet for a while and I am thoroughly impressed with the style and playability of AceM2. It feels like it could have been released this year as any indie game. Please don't be put off by the sometimes childish community here, there are people who seriously do appreciate the effort and time you have put into this without requesting bizarre personlised features.

Agreed, this is sooo playable. Client is amazing, server files amazing. Best private server going imo. Keep it up!

it seems Tbolt is doing more damage at lv3 than FlameDis is doing at Lv3 ??? normal ?
just tested it

may just be luck idk

Tbolt will do more damage against Undead monsters whereas FlameDis will do more damage against players and living monsters...

Living monsters are tamable, undead are not :), hope this sheds a little light on the matter for you.

Amazing work guys :) ThankYou...

And as for people asking for a release... go get yourself a prostitute... because imo if you want these files you will sort out the bugs and fixes yourself. Iv never been a fan of this lark, but to be honest im pretty selfish anyway haha.

Once again.. Massive Thanks to the Team

I'm more excited about getting my hands on the mapeditor. Nothing wrong with wanting the source/build files though? Agree about giving them plenty of time for it to be tried and tested with most of the bugs fixed/features updated.......................... A prostitute? Random.

Glad u agree i was talking about the people who would rather let someone else do the job they should be doing. And a was referring to the release that these people crave (prostitute).... play on words

Why the **** would we sit on them? We haven't worked on these since last September to sit on them. And seriously what previous projects? What projects have I not released?

I am fairly new to this forum, does releasing the files mean releasing the server files in the shape they are in at the time of the release? Like if acem2 decided to release the files now, you could download the server as it is now? Or does releasing mean releasing the source code? I am not programmer but I gather there is difference.

So if a release would happen, would that mean the code that you need to have the ability to compile, or would that mean releasing the compiled server program? And if the later, how much can be done with just the setting files and when you need access to source code? I don't know what kind of changes to mir are done by simple text editing some ini files and which changes (if any) require coding.

For example there is missing the connecting path btw SV & BW mines. Would adding the access doors to it and the maps and the mobs mix be just a matter of writing text ini files or coding?

And if these files were gotten from some (I think and am just guessing) chinese co. maybe shanda, why were they in such rough shape requiring much work. Or is it mostly changing from chinese unusable ini and other files to english ones? Like it was all there but mostly unusable due to some chinese picture script that everything was written in?

From what i have read about on RubyM2 files, what you can download is pretty much raw product with bugs left and right and which may not even include mob and item files and other stuff making such release useless for those of us who would just run those files for fun with close friends or family, as a sort of a 'chat room with something to do' as mir as a game was often billed in past. Most pple don't have knowledge or time and will to study the format of setting files and figure their own mob stats and AI etc.

As for this acem2 it is playable in the main but lacks many things everywhere you look, at least from the lower level point of view (I am currently 27 in BC)

Instead of releasing the files, maybe better idea would be to take on 'associate' acem2 development board more of you guys who have some knowledge and experience with improving the files. Not sure if that wouldn't amount to release of files, if getting onto the developent team in any way would mean putting full files into your hands, or if one can be developing without actually having access to full files.

Anyway I'd like to see bigger team working together on the files rather than having the project split into numerous versions (each dog running his own small show) each project rough at the edges and never pulled to some satisfactory all around shape.

I get the impression that the current team is pretty thorough so I expect they will only release once everything bug free and fully operational. This server is kind of like the final part of development to test how these features work in a user environment and iron out any bugs.

I see your point about a nice large development team but releasing is better for the community as it will be there for people to modify and more importantly learn about how Mir works so they can also contribute to the community.

No it wasnt a jab at anyone. Just a bit of sarcasm. Im using my phone for internet so admittedly it makes it tough to get on and have a go to report bugs. I downloaded the client over my mobile network and received an email from my provider telling me they would bar my phone.

I try to avoid responding to negative comments because I generally think that they are not worth my time, however, when it is a lie as well as a negative comment I just can't help myself :).

1: I can't think where the Mir private community would be without Milo's constant research and updates/releases of files, and I am offended for him on this comment, because no matter what other members of the team may or may not have done in the past, Milo has always contributed where he can.

2: I am offended by "before anyone start's flaming me, Ive found a set of AppleM2 files and looking into them." As if we have not spent copious amounts of time fixing and adding to these files that you could then just pick up the AppleM2 files and it will be at or in and around the same state of what we have now. Do tell us how to plan to add all of the skills, light system, sql db's, mob ai's and everything else that we have worked on, before we have a chance to release the server files.

Server files will be released once we get to a point that we are comfortable enough that we can start adding new content, instead of just tweaking existing content.

We plan for AceM2 Server to be the first to get any of the new features/updates and being the main test hub before we do official releases.

Well you and milo, have taken my comment to heart... well good luck chap's

with my comment ive never said they will never be up to par of what you have. but with the success and interest in these files i would be very surprised if we EVER see a release any time soon from you guy's,

But i do praise the work both Sijo + AceM2 have done with them.

Anyway, never meant to offend anyone. Everyone can have there honest opinion's

LOL @ This basically what your saying is you'll cash in on these before others get a chance to. which from my opinion is entirely fair you worked hard you reap the rewards. What i cant comprehend is the fact that even the basics of things have been kept in the dark.

LOMCN is a community without the vast majority of people who have contributed here over the years you guys would be no closed to a final build of acem2 than the chineese are to 6.00 and all credit where due i know alot of you Milo in particular work really hard. but all this work is based upon something that was infact given or found for free.

instead of boycotting questions and passing the buck what you should be doing it release the bare minimum untill ur completely satisfied(or you've stripped the server of its current features) to release a stripped bare file set (like 1.4)

im sure i speak for the whole of LOMCN when i say this.

you guys really have alot of options that would keep the community happy untill you're satisfied ill name just a few.

1) give us the new tool set so budding server developers TGA/arcadia ect ect can start work on mapping converting over tile sets ect ect
(this would give you bout 2 months added time as people will be busy creating a pre-template for there server)

2) release an old build you guys have worked for over a year im sure you have builds before the lighting system ect ect.

3) cancel bug fixing for a day strip the serv files bare and release em with no help that will keep people quiet and busy for a few months then when your done with your so called Special features (btw 5.21 has a better built in lighting system) then you can get your scouts bad for contributing it to the server.

Hope this dont offend anyone just figured id add my opinion as before you know it you'll be deleting 100posts aday all asking the same damn question.

how are they "cashing" in on anything, they are hosting this game out of their own pocket, there is no gamegold shop or even a donation system currently in place.

i think these files are in the best place they could be right now, 1 server which is dedicated, ran and updated for the community, there just isn't the player pool for another dozen clones of this server to sprout up.

leave it 6 months before you release.
