Over the years playing Mir I have found one thing, exploiters are never punished... This has followed us here... Milo like all the other hosts is turning the blind eye towards the scum who have abused the stack bug and have gained a huge advantage over everyone else... Exploit in miR, you gain an advantage and you get away with it... So why the hell shouldn't I take advantage of an exploit the next time i come across one? I will gladly take a slap on the wrist as punishment and enjoy the millions of gold i have exploited or the millions of exp i have gained...

I appreciate what you have done with the server milo but screw you for letting these scum get away with this.

I am done with playing the game the right way. Don't give them a warning, don't de level them, BAN THEM.... It disgust me that the ones who have exploited this bug are on here trying to justify what they have done.

They did, they banned quite a few and it caused a lot of "wtf i'm banned" threads as some people were also caught as they were using programs to enhance them (If your computer can't play mir after this long dear god..) but that's my thoughts :)

This made me laugh. Let's take this into a real world scenario and see if you view it differently. And yes i am going to go there :P.

Jimmy Savile exploited young children for year and was never punished for it(Before you say nobody knew, of course people knew but turned a blind eye). Does this mean that we should all go around exploiting young children? No! I think not.

So now will you go exploiting bugs just because other have? Don't be a bad person just because a handful of people are.

No one was banned for abusing that bug. They only banned the ones who have used external programs

Which unsurprisingly was also a few people who used this bug. People who abuse exploits will be banned at our discretion not all issues require the BanHammer but it is used when required.

It's always the same people going around on every server abusing bugs and cheating... Why do they do this? Because they know they can get away with it. You need to make an example out of these idiots by banning them .

Your personal vendetta against a select few (or theirs against you) is none of our business...

My personal view and the others my disagree with me on this... But in terms of bug exploits, if there is a bug that it is exploitable it is because we (the dev/server team) have made a boo boo... How can we punish others for our mistakes?

A slap on the wrist seems fair... Repeat offenders will have a more serious punishment.

I agree with this. A bug exploit isn't nowhere near as bad as knowingly using hacks/speed programs. There should be a certain level of punishment for each type of offense.

Here goes one of my crazy examples again:
You wouldn't give someone the death penalty just because they stole a loaf of bread would you?

Think the devs wouldn't mind exploitation so much if players posted about it. You're testing.

If you keep stuff to yourself... hmmmm... you're doing half your 'job'.

your looking at this at this in the wrong light, people knew they was exploiting a bug and didnt report it, now they have gained a seriously big advantage over others, letting them get away with it is like (for violent) :

2 people going to prison one for stealing a loaf of bread and one for killing someone, the one who killed someone gets out before the other.

Turrican; your analogy is awful and ****ing stupid.

I don't play this server but tbh I'd be interested in seeing some sort of 'whistleblower' (<thats a link to wiki page) policy implemented e.g. if a bunch of people are exploiting - one of the exploiters could report themselves and whoever else is exploiting and gain immunity and depending on the exploit, keep some stuff?

Some sort of motif is needed otherwise no-one will blow the whistle. Who knows how many exploits are out there DUN DUN DUNNNNNN

Hey stop drinking out of my cup :P.

This really does depend how you look at it. I can't really say as I don't know the full story if they have been punished or not. But what I think the players want to see is some sort of punishment (Not a ban though). Just so they can get a fairer game. The other thing is how do you find a punishment to justify their wrongdoing? Either way someone is going to be unhappy. But at the end of the day its up to the team how they approach this.

I would also like to point out that over time this advantage will become fainter and a few weeks down the line the gap will close. Perks of being low rate.

simple, you remove the levels they gained from exploiting it, this wouldn't even need to be discussed if the server would of been rolled back, and possibly had a day of increased exp that EVERYONE could enjoy.

Its as the op says, whats the point in playing by the rules if no one else is if they aren't being punished for it.

You people start debating using subjective opinion, when you already know people knew they exploit some bug, what's left to debate ?!

Think you know everything, then be at least that intuitive and stop being subjective.

Turrican is perfectly centered the problem, people who played loyally feels punished (level lower than the others now) and sees people who have cheated enjoy the fruits of his scam, unpunished!

Before unleashing flame, I am a tao liv43 who has never used the bug, but even that feels not to be second to anyone, so no frustration of defeat ;)

I think that erasing the experience made during the period of exp changed (not the levels, only the experience, and then you fall where you fall) and removing the items created using gems result of the work of 14 accounts, it would give the honest people, the pleasure of playing a server where they feel protected.

Do not tell me that they must "get a life" or nonsense of this kind, please, play is life!

Who deceives in the game also deceives in life, and those who claim otherwise tell lies, first to themselves.
