Or a map for ore only / accessory only / armour only / weap only / etc. ? That would at least make the type of item you're searching for easier....

That wouldn't work, what if u wanted to sell a wep,brace,ring,gem? Would mean creating 4 stall chars lol, the only way to solve it is an NPC to scan stalls so u can type in "DragonRing" and it'll show what stalls are selling and for how much, or just do away with em and make em for buying items only and put a TM in for selling

You need to read the thread mate, TM does not exist for these files, would need to be coded. Plus the team are not sure if a TM is the idea they want to implement. So I say we all start asking for alternatives to the TM rather than just "a TM".

I like the idea of an auction house kinda deal, where you can set the item starting price, a time limit (maybe 24 hours, 48 hours and 72 hours) and perhaps even a reserve value so if that price is not met you can retrieve the item after the auction is over. Also the auction house has to take a fee and this has, it has!!! To be a percentage of the final value the item is sold for. So you sell a gem at 500k the auction house gets 10% cut for selling the item for you so they get 50k... You just made 450k. Sell something for 5m the auction house cut is obviously still 10% but this time the cut is 500k. You still earn 4.5m and this will also remove some gold from server.

Can't the code be ported in from a version that had a Auction House and altered where needed? Or you using a compledely dofferent structure to before?

In my view, I dont think its where or how stalls are presented, but more to do with the sheer number of stalls to actually physically look through that is the painfully time consuming thing, whereas with TM its as simple as typing the name of what your looking for in to compare prices and find stuff.

I would look at the elimination of alts as stalls, maybe tie setting up a stall to some points the char accumulated due to hunting, or just moving around, or something, so that only active chars could setup a stall.

That would make pple sell only more serious stuff and it would greatly prune the number of stalls.

The view on TM by Sam is big dissapointment as TM was always a big part of mir ever since it was put in. I can hardly believe it is being questioned. How about then a market forum webpage accessible from within the game? Same thing as we might have on forum here but access from the game woud make it more a part of the game and it wouldn't be perhaps that hard to put in since we already have ranking page, only it would have to be live, read/write/edit.

Bigger map and allotted spaces for stalls to make it easier to read n run round checking. Spend half time going back to stalls already been too

the only way i can see stalls working for another month is changing the map to a spiral or corridor map where stalls are made on the sides so that people can run through on horse and manage to read all the stall names without thinking bad things of people up in heaven :D

like this:

where dots are stalls which sit with a space between each other so that people can actually read the stall names and can run through quickly

WHy not do a forum search before you make ANOTHER thread asking for a trust merchant. Everyone wants one. The team are working on it. There will be one eventually. Meanwhile sell or buy the old fashioned way by shouting.

The 'Trade Merchant' should be top of the priority list, it's such a fundamental part of the game!

Because the Trade Merchant isn't in game, your seeing things like PowerRings & BlackIronHelms in the Shops at buy price, because people don't have enough slots to sell it in their stalls, it's ruining the economy I personally think..

Foopahs idea where it takes a percentage of your asking price too sounds good, to keep gold rare, and the Economy balanced.

I was thinking something along these lines too. Using fences / shrubs a 'slot' could be created... (even a custom tile with a red cross) and then a GM could when they log on just check, stalls not in spot just get @kicked.. simples! OR.. even make the map non SZ appart from slots (could cause PK'ing tho of people browsing.

How can gold be kept rare when yiu can make a mil in bdd on 33armours alone in an hour... as wel as 100k+ k in st kr an thats 2 examples. The spiral idea is good should ask on entry if your buying or selli g too, so if you selling it puts you in a free space if buying you enter in the path down through middle.

So for you to put a TM in.. im guessing its not just a case of putting in an npc thats already there to use. But to actually create one? I think everyones under the impression its just a matter of just putting it in seeing as the TM has been around for years you would imagine it was already there???
DO a search read all the other threads there is an explanation about how much work there is to do somewhere.
Remember that TM was bugged exploitable and mis spelled on most other versions.

yeah the map could have specific spots where people could place stalls.. i won't make it too coded which checks or tele's putting you in the right place.. i would simple leave it free that people can use thier heads.. at the end of the day everyone has a benefit.. people will buy more and others will sell more if the follow the rules.. for all the others not following i guess there will be some pk'ing of thier main chars going on in the rest of mir :D :D

the idea of a GM @kicking isn't a bad idea though.. could be simple and effective, at least at the beggining to make everyone understand what they should actually do..

i guess this could also be a solution.. a 30stall x column map where you have x columns (maybe 10 to start with) for a total of 300ish stalls..

the grey spots are non walkable area.. the blue ones are stall spots.. white is the walkable part.. so that people place thier stalls and if necessary they could also say ingame, go check my stall, its on column 5 for example so that people can tele to the market map and run using the shortcuts to column5 and go check the spot.. or maybe have the market tele which can tele you directly into a specific column

I see, I hear but unfortunately it comes down to priority again and whilst there is an alternative (no matter how rubbish that alt might be) its priority is drastically decreased.

I cant believe you would think that the merchant is not the top priority number one thing to sort out in the server its the one fundamental flaw in the server and most important to add in. Stalls are awful remove them completely. I just think the server team is too scared to remove stalls and lose 100+ user count they like to keep the false user count going...

I think there should be a time scale as well so say the Stall closes after 10hrs.

this could easily be achieved with NPC commands.. when you enter the map you get a flag placed with a timer.. when timer goes off you get tele'd back to a sz somewhere..

not sure though how much usage this might take knowing how many people have stalls in that map

Everybody noes give or take 100 - 120 of the usercount is stalls, why would they be scared lol? Still leaves a good 150-180 legit players, sometimes see over 300+ on the usercount thing

tbh i think usercount doesn't really matter to the server team.. anyhow we all know there isn't the same amount of people playing this.

they should be very happy even with a 70+ usercount nowadays..

....

turning back to the issue.. we already have gave some good ideas which don't take more than an hour to implement.. any chance someone can tell us if they will be considering them?


some of the ideas which could be considered:
- make a new map so that ppl can place stalls in a smart way and leave the chance to others to run through it quickly.
- make a npc script which tele's everyone out of the map after x amount of hours to clean it up.

i think improving the actual system should be an easy fix and might help the item research while we wait for a proper TM or something similar to get ingame
