Not sure if you're including me on this "suggested names" but I can assure you my speed is average/below average depending on what mood my wifi's in & when the pigeons jump off the 6 mile long copper wire to my exchange. :P
testing something needs to be done with a good cross section of the user base - but much more logically including as many as possible and making polls for feedback with separate comments.
to name names of those i dont think would give a fully balanced view goes against what i would like to see achieved, and falls in the 'forum trolling' category - not something im interested in doing. it is more relevant that opinions of many would not be considered with this type of testing.
lets say for example - the clunky 'stopping' when running around pvping might suit slower players more than fast ones.
or with a small bunch of players, there likely wont be a thorough test in to how group pvp will play out.
then it turns out that these selected testers are happy as sand boys with the changes, will fight to defend the changes regardless of what happened because of their own involvement with it, and risk alienating a significantly huge chunk of the community - once again.
ultimately he is looking to pull players in to this to listen to and use their opinions - when so much of the guff i read on here is from teenagers (17-24 year olds) asserting themselves in that 'oh so familiar' way.
you need the majority to be happy with changes.
you also need to help this small community all feel included. users other than those selected need feel as though their opinion means something to the devs.
my understanding is that apex had some kind of partialy exclusive closed beta testing before the server launch - which i also think should have been handled better.
