    They do indeed, however some things they don't do at the weekend. I think OVH is definitely the way forward long term, it isn't going to solve the short term though.

    Agreed, removing the IP and adding a new one should be simple enough task. This kinda attack is a distributed so will be coming from a botnet, many IP's not one and isn't going to be coming from the culprit themselves lol. DDOS doesn't gain access to a server, it sends lots of "junk"...

    The exe runs, its process is consuming cpu/memory but it hasn't loaded and isn't in my task bar... Running on windows 8.1 Tried in 7 compatability mode, still the same problem.

    Not sure where you got the impression MySQL won't run on Windows 8. http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/mysql/ works fine for Windows 8. I'm pretty sure i've tested out files on Windows 8 before without an issue.

    Point been, someone may have the same issue in the future, if you've given up Mir, or someone wants a quick fix and they search, its far easier to find the solution for them. End of the day, your choice if to share but if the community has given to you, you should give back where you can :)
