i forgot to say that to play mir u need to have the audio drivers installed correctly.. that error says that actually.. had the same problem on my working pc which didnt have an audio card and i had to install one.. :)
i read somewhere that themida is an application used for packing up the exe's.. not a virus.. so i provided in the advanced options of avg to add some exclusion folders..and i have putted there the mirserver folder and the wemade game folder since i had also mir2.exe "infected"

then in this case is because u are using sql 2000 and u are restoring the wrong db file.. u must download the 2.3 server files and in the dbserver u will have mir2(restorethis) which...

i'm trying to make a thread to help out a bit all the people around which don't have no basics at all in making Mirservers.. so please be kind if this isn't a fully completed guide but just a Getting Started one..

check if in your !setup.txt u have ShowRankLevelName=1

the server files are setted to have mobs only in past bichon and evil mir maps.. if u want other files u have to add them in the tbl_mogen inside the mir2 db which u can...
for dbserver make sure u are getting a correctly working sql and make sure that u have the sql setting part correct too.. because its the only thing i can think..
if u cant start again from zero.. follow the guide slowly and make sure u get things done as the should be
