    My favourite method is you earn skill points as you hunt. They are gained alongside exp with each kill and you have a continual balance of sp to use. When you get a new skill or want to increase the level of a current skill, you use your sp to achieve this until its expired. Start hunting again...

    Check your windows power setttings. Default settings can be very "cottonwool" with things like HD, network card, screen etc, to all go into powersave mode, especially if its running in battery mode. Just the HD going to power save can cause contstant lag issues in gameplay. Antivirus protection...

    One option for guilds camping a boss is to add a daily limit on kills. I don't like such restrictions but if a guild can only kill a boss twice a day, others will get a chance.

    Zath was originally Zathras from Babylon 5, probably the best Sci Fi series of its era. It got shortened by people in CompuServe forums and it stuck. Ardbeg because its a bloody good malt whisky. Loads of others were using Lord of the rings names etc. at the time so I had to be different.

    One I played many moons ago was a 1.4 or 1.9 server called Crystal. Probably far earlier than you're after. Probably still got the client somewhere and it had a handy guide to setting up the server files too. KTest server or something if I remember.
