Also be worth trying to disable the "Enhanced SpeedStep technology" to prevent the CPU from "boosting"

Will give this a try when I get home this afternoon and let you know what happens.

I just want to have a quick look at what your computer has to offer.

To me this is related more around DirectX than anything else (it was an error you posted before) so i think that is causing an issue with processing certain things.

also try enabling .net framework in windows features. Best way to do this is by,

pressing the windows key and typing in "windows features" it will show up an option of turn windows features on or off, now click the ".netframe work 3.5" until this shows a tick in the box on the left. Now with the .netframework 4.7 (as it is on mine) expand the folder and click the little box for ASP .net 4.7 (again its named that on mine).

you could also install the legacy components in windows features, this will allow direct play to be installed (no harm having it installed along side what you have).

See how you get on with them, the only other options i can think of are to do with the network adaptor software installed on your computer and if these 2 dont work ill guide you through that one also.

P.S i am currently looking into DirectX 12 for you to see if theres settings in them that might effect the way its processed but its trying to re assure me that its all backwards compatible. You could if your able to installed directX11 first then upgrade to DirectX12 once 11 has installed and have it so it keeps both sets of drivers installed on your machine.

Tried a couple of different things.

HyperThreading - Off - No different
Running on single core via affinity - No different

Unable to find the enhanced speedstep technology setting in my BIOS :)() however I have disabled all of the ASUS boost / overclocking features that I could see - No different

Netframe works enabled - No different
Legacy Components enabled - No different

I can't actually find a way to uninstall DX12 in Windows 10, everything on good old Google is stating its not possible as its a system required function and is fully compatible / has all previous versions of DX with it.

New versions of DirectX include older versions. If a game wants to use say DirectX 9, then that's not a problem as it's included in 12.

DirectX12 is not what's causing your problems

Ok I’ve done a fair bit of reading around DX12 doesn’t seem to be a viable way to remove it. In fact it doesn’t even exist as a stand alone installer and can only be done via windows updates.

I’ve ran the built in repair function just in case it may have corrupt or damaged files to no avail I’m still getting the exact same two step lag issue.

I’m probably just going to have to write it off as a bad job and wait for the next Mir 2 server to launch and hope it doesn’t give me any issue.

I doubt its to do with Directx, but you could try dumping the required libaries in the root of the client:

I didn’t even know we had auto run! It’s any movement, casting of spells or any game interactions at all. The displacement in the videos is just the easiest way to show it, it’s almost as though my computer is struggling to process the game resulting in it constantly lagging (like 56k dial up lagging).

Having tried for almost two weeks to resolve it and still not being any closer to getting it running without issues I’m pretty close to just giving up.

I’ll try the DX dll files you’ve linked, where do I need to put them?

realistically the client needs fixed to work with newer class devices.. I'll install vmware and try it on windows 7 and see if it still occurs.

Thanks for all of your help, tried with them in the same folder as my client but no dice still getting the same problem.

Auto-run does the same, constant spikes/freezing followed by displacement errors.


Also still generating various errors in the error log.

Also what is your power plan set to? try it on High Performance. (helps keep the CPU at a steady clock speed)

Have you tried running any other crystal based mir client?

Yeah it’s already set to high performance.

What Mir 2s would you suggest to try to see if it’s client specific? Chronicles??

Try Sanjians Fishing server, seems pretty cool - crystal based.

Chronicles is delphi based (applem2/ace)

The issue you're getting sounds as though the client is out of date with the server - so you're basically getting disconnected straight away. Apart from getting the 1 step lag, do you see any other feedback? Players running around you? chat coming through etc?

It sounds as though you're just getting disconnected instantly.

Also the "korean" text you see is just jibberish made up by their encrypted client.

Yeah other players run about, I can kill things and get the EXP. I can see up to date global / yellow shouts, can even have a normal conversation via PMs, but it goes through phases couple of seconds normal, few seconds nothing or freezing, few seconds at hyper speed like it’s trying to catch up the server side into the client which is where I usually get the displacement errors and rinse repeat.

I’ll try and take a video a bit later if it would better help understand what’s going on?

Will also try and download another server that’s also using the same source, may identify that it’s the source itself that just doesn’t work with my hardware or it’s specific to this client. :)

I'm getting between 9-10ms when pinging 8.8.8.8 which is google yeah?

Sorry didn't want anyone to feel like I was ignoring them. Has taken me 19 hours to download Legend of Fishing via its autopatcher for it to say files are corrupt or missing. :( Finally managed to get it working and I'm now getting the exact same two step lag issue here as I do in Apoc.

Guessing the issue lies with the Crystal client then?

Google's ip is 216.58.201.4.
Yeah net looks like it's got a good connection to Google's server, so there's no drops or anything in your line. Must be all client based ( as suggested).

Any ideas how to resolve it? Issue seems limited to clients using the Crystal files (Apoc, LoF)
