Hi all,
This server is great, I think we would probably all acknowledge that it's the best low rate server in years, maybe ever. Its user count is also the current highest, and has been sustained for a while.
But Mir is about many factions fighting it out.
a) Can Chronicles support a larger userbase? If so how many? 500? 1000? Active users at one time.
b) What community attempts, or help, could be done to help make it grow? Maybe a targeted crack at big websites like mmorpg.com and reddit? Links, trailer, shop window screenshots, all in one "press pack" so to speak.
There is a lot of talk about the comeback of "Sandbox" MMOs, and that "Theme Park" MMOs like WoW and Elder Scrolls are a hard sell to new players, who happen to be MMO veterans at the very same time. There's a lot of Sandbox MMOs in the works, but nothing as complete as Mir, or even really out of Beta worth trying. Seize the day.
Just a thought. With Mir, the more the merrier. And new blood and fresh eyes would not be the worst thing in the world. It shows no signs of happening, but it would be a shame for all this hard work to one day have only been seen by a hardcore faithful. Maybe an organised community effort, to spread the good word, in the same vein as how we are all so good at meeting up and learning our roles for a hunt or a siege, is what could push this great game back to greatness.
