so make a thread about it

Lol ICT, lessons are like this:

"ok guys, todya we learn how to use microsoft word is!"

the closest thing to anything in depth is learning what the differences between a vector and a bitmap are.

His spelling is fine, he just used the wrong word. So the semantics of the sentence is wrong.

And yes, ICT is the study of the use of computers rather than understanding how they work or how to make them work.

For one lesson of ICT I had to 'learn how to search, on Google'

I just walked out, No I'm not after a medal.

But seriously that is beyond belief.

Yes.
An egyption man taught me IT and i can concur with the rest it is lame.

You do pointless excercises in Excel, you Key In Sentences (wtf why not call it type) into MSWord and you are basically wasting your time.

Odds on someone who is not a complete tard could skip all the lessons and just turn up for the exam.

Why couldn't you have just said his grammar was wrong? instead of trying to sound smart and use a word which you clearly do not know the meaning to.

Let me give you an example of what semantics are.

Subject matter: Death

Sentence: "The grim black room reaked to high hell of blood. We knew there was a murder there."

Semantics: Grim, Black, Hell, Blood, Murder.

Semantics is simply meaning.. the use of the word was just fine.

What you've done there I have no idea, random choosing of words?

Seans right, semantics means meaning and in the context of hellcasters post the use of "semantics" is completely justified.

Hey everyone, lets take a crappy arguement and blow it out of proportion and use some awesome definitions that at no point actually address the simplicity of the issue.

You want to get involved in the English language heres your ****ing involvement.

First of all, the word "look" was used instead of the work "luck" at which point you can suggest the poster thinks "luck" is spelt "look". So we have a spelling mistake. Its a pretty simple case, he clearly doesnt know how to spell the word, therefore its a ****ing spelling mistake.

You want to address the concept of semantics, good for you, its nice that you want to better yourself. Semantics are commonly used to refer to a trivial point in something. Much like the arguement about the word "luck" being spelt "look", it doesnt really matter what type of error it was, the simple point is he made a ****ing mistake so lets not argue over the Sematics of it.

Semantics can also be used in refernce to:
1. The study of meaning - doesnt apply here, we know what he meant, and thats not the problem, its the fact it was spelt wrong that is the problem.

2. The meaning or intepretation of a word - doesnt apply here, we know what "look" and "luck" mean, we know how to intepret the words. There isnt a problem with that, even in relation with the sentence, we know what its supposed to mean, despite the error. Anyone that tried to intepret the sentence by seriously thinking the word "look" was meant to be there and wants to argue that cause is a ****ing moron who is too stupid to take part in this anyway.

3. Study of relationships of signs and their meaning - doesnt apply here, self explanatory.

This should just about close the arguement, and anyone who wants to take it further is more than welcome to as long as the realise whatever they say that contflicts with I said is wrong.

Welcome to English Language class, my name is god, and ill be your teacher this evening.

For starters, I'm not on a high horse, I'm simply reiterating what I was taught in AS level english, so until someone here tells me they are doing a degree in english at university, i'll happily believe that i'm right and you're wrong.

And Dataforce.. you won't do shiiit about my sig, because you're not a fascist, yeah?
