Annouying pop-ups popping up even with a Popup-Blocker installed?

Well recenelty i been getting pop-ups from various sites, including LOMCN.

Now i never used to get these and they are really annouying. Even google comes with them.

After reading another thread in here titled "Something using 100% CPU using" and endtasking a program called ie4baln.exe i was thinking maybe there was a external .exe popping up these programs?

So i went to task manager and kept it up while searching the web for a Pop-up to come up (All i had to do was type in LOMCN address and it came up), then i looked at task manager while the pop-up was loading and found the file msbb.exe was taking CPU usage while it was loading, so it must have been running that pop-up.

I endtasked it and now the pop-ups stay pop-downs :P

It also hasn't effected my pc which is good.

download spybot or adaware both free U have spyware/adware Use them to get rid of em

Seemed when I got my pop up blocker I got more pop ups than before... Dirty buggers.

Try this:

Start -> control panel -> admin tools -> services

Find "messenger" right click properties change startup type to disabled then reboot.

As mordeth said it will be adware that is causing the pop-ups any decent spyware remover will solve it, i recomend Spy Bot Search and Destroy

program that stops pop-ups. best pop up blocker is one that not only scans the net pages for pop-ups, but also your registry.

M8 your best bet is that u got summit on ur comp which is making poups popup ur best bet gettin rid of em is gettin adaware tht takes all the things u shunt have on ur comp and popups shunt popup you should run it nearly evryweek it is a good program i av used for ages

Lol simple to get out of all the pop up crap...

Download google search bar, it looks cool under your address bar and it stops all pop ups and script errors.

i use adwear i do it nerly every day and i always get within 9-10 data miners thingys i get rid of em coz they take up space on me pc i left ir for a few days and got 24 of them lol but adwear is good coz its free :P
