Hey Guys,

It wasn't mentioned on the patch notes, however, V1.3.0 Introduced an Anti-Cheat engine that automatically kicks and reports people who are found cheating...

An investigation will be done into anyone who is reporting cheats. A reminder that modifying your client in anyway is a ban-able offense and we take this very seriously.

Some much welcomed news.

I think they rather make people aware so they stop and can keep the user count high, which I prefer rather than banning a lot of people, hence the warning.

I'd rarther just ban their assess tbh.

type of people who would find a gold exploit, and not report it and totally unbalance the game/server. and no-one would find out for months when it's too late.

Once a cheat, always a cheat!

:p

Since they're being kicked they'd of noticed pretty quickly no?
Would disagree cause people making cheats all know that every patch could be a potential fix to the cheat or a change that detect's it thus they have a backup of the file and have fun with datamining the files finding out what the cheatfix changed and will bypass it.
once that happens it renders their anticheat system worthless

Why are you assuming the Cheat detection done entirely client side? That'd be dumb. Anyway it's cheat detection, a constant battle between server owner and cheat maker. Something that'll happen regardless of announcements or not.

Try not to get too defensive we are simply feeding you information of potential holes in the system. Also it does not matter if the cheat detection is client side or not. It can still be bypassed. Quite easily too if it is kicking you instantly.

Every Cheat Detection can be bypassed, every single one. That doesn't change what I said. Or do you think it's dumb that Valve advertise VAC? Or Dice publicly use PunkBuster? How it went from announcing that use of cheats will result in Kicks and Bans = Telling Cheat Makers where in memory to look for cheats I don't understand.

Valve and PB do not disclose what how they handle the cheat detection. You did by stating that it kicks you. I'm not sure if your missing what i'm trying to hint at but i'm trying to help you lol. Im not saying your system is bad. Im just saying that you can improve it. If you want to know how I would do it then drop me a PM and I will explain better :)

My system? I'm not involved with the server in any way shape or form. I'm sure Sam and the team are more than capable to keep on top of cheats and ban users appropriately

-edit- Also it's pretty well understood what VAC and Punkbuster do to detect cheats. Hence why cheats are constantly improved and why VAC and Punkbuster must be constantly improved. Like I said it's a battle that's not going to end any time soon for the server. Mentioning that they'll be kicked and reported changes nothing about that.

Sorry I assumed you was by the way you reacted to what I said.
They may be more than capable but I was only offering some advise.

Eh? If challenging someone's opinion makes them of high authority, then where's my ****ing throne.

Moving along...

This is very good news indeed. Hopefully gives the cheaters something to worry about. I would hope after a certain amount of kicks, a Ban is put in place after some investigation.

Alaria's cheat detection got my char thrown in the "jail" place (Square room with about 40 Lords in) and it wasn't even me on the character!

Good news guys, try and keep the cheats to a minimum.

"feeding you information of potential holes in the system" lol. Stop talking jib, you stated the obvious, nothing more.
