Thanks guys, I have started absolutely no work on this idea for the simple reason I wanted to know what people thought of it. I want to help and improve mir, but I want to try and bring an external factor as I dont really want to own or code servers.
Smavid: Do you understand how an exchange rate system works? If someone wants to transfer 100000billion to another server, he is obviously not going to get that much. In that extreme situation, the player would be grateful if he/she got a few 1000 in their new server. If for example someone had 100000billion to transfer, but the exchange rate is showing that money is scarce on that server, it will refuse the exchange and make myself and the GM aware so I can find out why this person has so much money.
JamieM: When I was writting this up for Lomcn I did think that there is nothing for GMs to get out of this, the best thing I could suggest that a healthy stable exchange rate would be a good advertisement so people know that your server has a healthy economy. As the system will be able to monitor the amounts of gold people have, it can also be used as a detective for bug exploits. Players that are getting sharp increases in money will be flagged up so GMs can then find out where this person is to be making money. Those are the only reasons that come to mind, but as we develop the system and understand its capabilities, im sure there will be plenty more for server owners to be linked with our system.
