Any one worked behind a bar? Just wanting to know whats involved e.g. how much work there is and if its easy to cope?

I start tonight at 8 and finish at 2/3

Depends where the bar is and what kind of bar. Im pretty damn sure it will be hurendously busy on a friday/saturday night and unless your prepared it will get too much.

Hmm the pub is called the Punch Bowl, its located mainly in the centre of town and when i go in for a drink it is busy, but the manager said i will get training tonight hopefully everything goes well.

Working at a resturaunt I can tell you on a busy night you will be running back and forth the bar lol.. but you make the buses your *****es.

Its good when its busy but sucks when its boring. If the manager is decent at training he'll do for you what my old manager did for me, which is make sure ur active all night, and make sure you serve as many people as possible. One night is more than enough to get the hang of everything if your trained right.

The problems come if you work afternoons (theyre the graveyard shifts of pubs etc) and the time drags by so ****ing slowly. Becuase unlike other jubs there isnt much you can do to occupy the time.
