Beta Phase 3 Status:

Hi all,

We realise we said that we would have phase 3 up at some point this weekend.

We had a little discussion as a team last night and came up with two options, one was to open Phase 3 today and let things continue, and the other option was to leave Phase 3 down until we had all of phase 1/2 fixes complete.

We have decided that the second option is far more beneficial for the server.

With this, it means that we can have the server almost perfectly ready so that when Phase 3 is finished the server will be ready to go live.

The other option means that we have phase 3 go ahead, get all the bugs reported to us, but when Phase 3 finishes we would have to just hope that the fixes we made were correct. Where as if we complete Phase 3 as we have decided, it means that all the fixes from phase 1/2 can be thoroughly tested.

This decision has been made with the best interest of the server and its players!

This will mean that Apocalypse Beta will remain down until we have "greened" off all of our bug list.

We will keep you up to date on how far we progress on our tracker daily. For example, we are about 15% into the current fixes at the moment.

just to clarify for everyone, This has not delayed the launch of the server we are still on the same track as previously, we have just decided to change the order of the way we run Beta.

Is the website one of the last updates? Be nice to see a list of skills for each class.

Yes mate, hit the nail on the head, however the server does not go live without the website etc.

Personally I think you should make phase 3 open beta... I understand you originally set out with closed beta as an advertising ploy, which was a very good idea. But everyone who was gonna put the sig, like the Facebook page will have done it by now... You should get as many people testing everything so that you can iron out every little bug which is found, and the more people you have doing this the more you will find. Also it would be a good test for your server stability with high volumes of people logging on.

I see your point, but we never planned an open Beta, the Advertisement part was just a good idea from DiabloVodkaShot, we initially were always doing a Closed Beta for different reasons.

We will consider open Beta, but its most likely going to remain closed. If things go well during Phase 3, the server will be live short after.

Best way to go about it, is to class Open Beta as the actual live date.

1 or 2 weeks Open Beta, and then if everything runs smoothly - Live with no wipe.

This just gives you the ability and added security of a wipe if anything drastic does go wrong. Seeing as everyone should be aware of a little possibility of a wipe before Live. But obviously, this shouldn't be required.

I do agree that an open beta could help to find more bugs (if any), test more things, hear more opinions and perhaps create even more hype from ppl trying out your server

I dont agree about naming "live">>>"open beta". There will always be a chance of a wipe as there is in any server if a serious bugged is found but on the launch of a server of this caibre ppl will be willing to spend stupid ammounts of time lvling the first 2 weeks. So there is no need to make em feel scared about a wipe.
