but still just download and install Zona Alarm pro or any other FW and when it asks you to allow the DBsrv through port 6000 say NO

no offence but some ppl don`t use their brains. ZoneAlarm does no **** up ur pc loool, if u know how to set up is the best ever made for windows os. -> you can know how to set up if u look trough him a little, if u know some english (you know maybe some pl don`t knwo to read in english).

And search is the power. U ever heard of www.google.com?

yeah i find it funny also lol zone alarm only dose what you tell it to do. say when you connect to a private server after installing zone alarm and you get a pop up in the bottom right of the screen saying "mir.exe is asking internet access" some sill noob sits there thing "omg hackers! *deny (check box labled always do this action)*. after mir loads up "Connection closed" erm wtf i know the servers online.

just a little example put more than likley happened over and over again

erm all of u stfu lol open the !setup.txt look for dbsport=6000 rename it to either 6100 6900 6300 and also open dbsserver.ini find the port numbr and change it to the number the changed the other port to (must both be same number) simple..... done.... no firewall.... no zonealarm.... no hastel....simple........y dont ppl remeber this in feature......

Spence, seriously close YOUR FCUCKING MOUTH if you don't know what you are talking about. People could simply do a fast port scan and find the port wich you had changed it to, so that's not an option.

About the discussion about ZA, yes it can very easily fcuck up your OS, but ONLY if you don't know what you are doing. A guy i know, instead of using the uninstall wizard just deleted the ZA directory. After that, no one could get the internet working on that windows installation anymore.

you need to hex dbserver to use 6100... maybe the new dbserver is in ini... no idea
