86.135.36.184 - Server is in Open Beta. Up 24/7. Has been 0 downtime since I started.

Download!

Thanks Weikster

siggy.php

Rate:Medium (Custom exp tables.) Easy to 42, 42-50 a challenge and 50-60 will be obtainable for those that want to get that extra advantage.

The server has a small quest for you to complete after logging in. You get a pet to help to around 25. I wanted to keep these levels in, but not draw them out. It should take no longer than a half hour to get to 25+, although its not a low rate later on. You can however skip this, you will still receive a kit and be @levelled to 24, but will lose out on a bonus item and the pet.

The server is using 2.3 files ut the mongen, items, npcs have for the most part, been totally redone.

Items - Every item is custom and most have unique skins. You have 'shop' kit that drops from mobs and you get a new set every 6-7 levels. These sets are not gemmable. Then you have the rare items that drop off bosses, which are gemmable.

Skills - Most skills up to 40 will be in shops. Some obtainable from a quest. The 'Uber' skills eg flamefield will drop from bosses primarily. There will also be severely reduced skill points for skills.

Host - Dual Core 3.2 ghz with 4GB of RAM.

Donations - Are in, but limited to consumables, minor exp buffs, stones, and boss scrolls at first. I dont want to flood the game with epic items and high levels straight after launch. Donations will go solely to the running of the server. 100% of the initial donations will be spent on a dedi.

And finally about the host. I have played Mir since beta, and I have played alot (Most) private servers going. I know what works and what doesnt. This is a part time project which I am suprised to find I am enjoying. I work for a living and have no drug habits to speak of, so any donations you do make wont be fuelling some students nights out/weed addiction.

Please leave your feedback and pm me with any bugs.

I find it quite funny as all you ever go on about is donation servers and yours will be hosted on a home pc and your be taking donations :P , as your probably ever have a max of 30 users i doubt your need a dedi so why do you need donations ? However it seems that you have a good plan as long as you stick with it i wish you the best of luck.

I see your point however these will be minor donations and the items will be controlled. Donating will be to maintain the server, the pc I will host on is good enough to hold 50 users but my ISP might not like the increased bandwidth. I work but I'm not loaded and rather not spend 50£ for a dedi no-one is going to use.

To be honest if I was hosting a server I would do small donations like this with a counter and what the donations are at, even if it was hosted off a home PC for the simple fact is I wouldn't want to go into my own pocket to buy a dedi and then the servers fails. I'd want people to donate the money for the 1st month of the dedi and hopefully if it goes well every month.

Maybe you could cap on what single account can donate per month or week, to meet any costs you have etc, as from what i can tell you want a fair server for everyone. This would stop the people who always donate from getting to advanced from the non donaters or the people who don't donate so much. Anyways won't go on about this anymore.

Hmm why do we still call it donations when its a game shop!! (not directed at this server but all !!!!!!)

Update: 100 new entries added to the item tables. Left to do: Stones, Rare Braces, Weapons. I have the stats laid out just need to enter them to DB and assign skins.

Helmets, armours, base rings/braces, and rare rings done. Edit: All boots/belts done. Edit 2: Rare and base necks done.

I have been importing items/armours which is why its taking longer, will be worth it when its done. Hopefully I'll start work on caves at the weekend. Coming along nicely, might even get the beta in Sept at this rate. Once I get the items done I can make the caves and test as I go. Drropfiles I think will be my biggest challenge, knowing how to get the rates just right.

Item core DB is 100% complete - except for special items and sets which I will add later (IE heaven set etc)

200 entries in item db, all custom stats. Now, onto the caves.

You should do stats and mobs and the same time, makes it alot easier to balance it out. But best of luck.

I did items first so I can test the mobs accurately in terms of what gear you should have going into the cave. I'll see when I start doing the med level caves today though.

Plus itll be alot easier to tweak, now I have all the names and entries in DB.

You should also test bichon mines and omacave for 1month ish to have it perfectly balanced and find a job a week before launch

So I can gauge interest I will be having a special starter gift to people that state their intention of playing on this thread.

Have been out all day today but I am going to change the start cave around this evening. You can either do the small chain of quests to go from 1-24 and receive a bonus item, plus enough exp to gain 2 lvls, (Will be an unbreakable stone or something like that.) - and get to keep the starter pet until you log, or you can use 'QuickStart' to tele you straight to BW with a base kit at 24.
