This but for whatever reason some of you seem to not understand that this is a private server with a team of 2 people.

BH

yup banding and stoping cheats is one thing,

spending time on bots is a different story, bots will always be a part of any game.

why are bots being used.
A. cheap leveling - only look to ban them over level33.
B getting gold to sell. - increase the gold & items to sell in the higher lvl caves. people are still having to cash to hunt.

theres seems to be a big thing on this server to keep gold at a minimum,
when at the end of the day if people have to cash to hunt it only becomes a decimal place in your bag.

I dont really care to much about low level bots tbh, Id much prefer you to get the balance right on the drops n sort skills and bugs.

You can try capping the amount of gold a character can carry according to their level both in storage and in bag. For example,
level 1-10 = 10k
level 10-20 = 50k
level 40+ unlimited and so on
This way you can slow down the process of bots trying to farm 24/7 once they reached the limit. Eventually they will need to pass the gold to a main character which you can ban the whole lot if system flags them. This will probably discourages the bot owner to create more bots because leveling another character to 40 takes time, and minimize the impact of large amount of gold injecting into the economy.

Just wondering,

Are you able to see into individual account actions?

Seems to me the best way any MMO has ever found for dealing with this is to track the cash and ban the accounts it ends up on.

Banning these individual accounts seems pointless when you can create a replacement fairy instantly.

And lets face it, with 200 users at peak times, chances are there's multiple people in this thread with multiple guildies who are running or buying from these bots.

Track the cash be it trades/tm-sales/drop'n'picks and ban the 40+'s it ends up with. And make a spectacle of them as a deterrent

Would it be possible to put a 'boss' in Serpent Valley (or other botted areas) that has no drops and requires like lvl 30ish to kill?
Have it spawn and roam in a place where it can catch the bots - near the Bichon border.
A real person playing, using their brain can be warned of these bosses or just learn the hard way by dying.

just a quick idea.

This, is a 100% absolutely FAIL idea. Does anyone remember one of the big reasons for the downfall of euro mir. Like I said before, DON'T do an Alaria. For those that don't remember - a quick history lesson: Sebuk War had a gold dupe bug that people exploited MASSIVELY. This flooded the economy with gold. You were handling this gold 3rd, 4th and even 5th hand. Alaria wrote a program that tracked the gold that had been duped - and banned all accounts that had it on them. If this had been done within a day of the game being flooded with gold, fine. But it wasn't. As a result, several hundred people got banned - 90% of whom were completely innocent. Tracing gold from botters will have the exact same effect. And in fact - probably isn't even doable. All they need to do is buy items form the TM, and then relist them - and that's money instantly laundered. And this si also assuming gold can be traced. I know gold bars/goldbarbundles/goldchests can - they are items - and this have an ID. Gold is just an integer value stored in the charDB. /Mark
