I understand that there is a lot of users waiting for a server but at the moment I am in a pickle due to the database manager not being active enough to proceed with the server.

I am looking for a database manager and all background/insight will be given to him/her if they are successful.

New! Elemental Era

Time to bring back the elements into Mir! This feature will provide you with a path in which you will embark on. Chose between two paths on each character in which to go down. Each path contains different abilities. I will provide you with one example, not giving too much away.

Example:
You are a wizard who has reached level 40, you wonder why you don't have much skills, just the basics. As soon as your interface changes to 40, you will be prompt with a message saying:

Well Done Hero, You have reached level 40. Time to choose your path:

Element Path 1 : Fire.

Element Path 2 : Lightning.

Descriptions of paths:

Fire: Your wizard will cast the element fire. Fire is very destructive and powerful.

Lightning: Your wizard will cast the element lightning. Lightning shocks your enemies and allows you to tame them.

Feed back on this feature please.

Sounds good to me -

This could almost be used as a variation of subclasses..

Tao - Congratulations you reached level 40 choose your path

Summoner/Naturalist - Access to Summoning spells, (Raise Dead, Wolf Pack etc etc)
DeathBringer - "" "" (Curse, Poison )

just ideas.

As warrior spells dont really have much variation between them, what paths would u add for them?

What exactly is the job of this database manager? Can't be as easy as i'm thinking of or you would do it yourself lol

Database on my server will be around 2500 + items.

The role involves database work and drops.

Well currently, I have numerous PM's about the database role but I went off quite early last night due to work in morning and night today. Will keep you update on who gets the position.

Updates:
Reduced drop times, you will now have 5 minutes to collect the goods from the floor before they disappear, speed is the essence!

Clan requirements have now changed. You will need a WarHorn to create a clan from Camalot Dungeons which can be found by exploring Camalot on foot or on a tiger. You will need CamalotPiece to start a war to take over Camalot, same applies.

Mini map added to Camalot.

Will start proceeding with the Elemental Era now.

Does this mean you have to choose between either Lightning or Firewall, for example? Or is it actually an element thing like Mir3?

For example:
Fire = A lot of power.
Lightning = Less power but able to tame pets.
Will be like a project69 kind of taming booth.

Elemental Era fully added.

Edited scripts to get rid of namelists and now put in flags. Easier for server benefits.

A lot of work has been done today and I would say am 80% done with the server am just waiting for my database manager to start adding caves etc.

Servers sounding promising, especially in the progress sense :P

I'd cancel this drops on the floor for 5 mins and they disappear, if you die with your group somewhere hard, there's no way you will get back in 5 mins to retrieve your drop.. big no,no from me..

what if you all die? sorry to be a pessimist, but too many times I've been one hitted by OK for example before it's attack has been made sensible.. 5 min drop time is just stupid.. what is the need for it? unless the drop files make every kill drop a 6x6 square of shizzle..

well incase its a HR with lots of drops , then its the best to lower the time
otherwise if it haves users like 50+ and lots of spam drops on floor might do eat some cpu xd

5min is bit harsh and bit rushed, if people lose items straight away they will probably quit and u dont really want that being a new server starting up.... 5mins to get to oma king kr etc is a mission even pt kr lol

I will raise to 10 minutes. In the 7 years + i've been playing mir it hasn't taken me ten minutes to get back in any cave.

Less drops on floor, less lag.

yes maybe 5 years ago, but if you are getting a dedi with modern hardware, lagg from drops on the floor really won't happen.
