Didn't got back to how it was. it was increased slightly from the "fix" but still lower than it was originally.

basically, we went half way and it seems to have kept everyone happy.

Indeed, SW last night proved all 3 classes have there merits now.

Warriors were dropping Wizzes all over the place, Wizards were Smashing the faces off Warriors and Taos were just being a general nuisance in both cases.

People had higher hp/mp but basic stats were the same. A-speed was worth half what it is on this server.

Mobs hit harder on usa mir also compensating for the hp.

Generally the mobs and systems worked with some bugs, so basing it off there is actually more reliable regardless of what level characters were.

I usually reply when someone quotes me but i have no idea what you are trying to say here.

You can't judge how balance classes are from a SW lol, the only really way to do it in PVP is 1v1.

Has Mir ever been designed around 1v1 combat though?

Plus, even if you had a 1v1, how on earth could you make a judgement on whether classes are balanced from it? There are so many factors that would decide who won, including but not limited to: kit, player skill, player speed, lag, the spells each player has, rng of damage etc.

I never said they were balanced, I said each has its merits now.

There will never be perfect balance, it just can't happen :).

Did you lot not take in consideration how this effects warrior from running? Pretty sure but don't quote me on this, warrior was able to get 1 step run of before a wiz/tao could cast again, with this increase in cast speed it means warr/sin won't be able to, and will be kitted all over the place due to not being able to run.

I think i given so many explanations why this buff is unbalanced, and my opinion isn't bias unlike yourselfs who still play this server and are playing casting classes, but your arguing the fact that it's better? for who? lol.
It's always been the case a warrior can drop a wizard very quickly, but it's never been this hard to actually get to that wizard which is the point of this.

I won't bother posting here again, explaining to people who have actually no idea about game mechanics and just posting to defend what they play -.-.

So how many warriors did you PVP as a caster during the brief period of time when the cast speed was lowered? Since you're obviously the expert on game mechanics here, I assume you did the research for the other side before coming to the conclusion that the slower cast speed was fine?

I do have to laugh at this, My entire job revolves around working with Game Mechanics :) (I was work as a Game Designer in the Gaming industry btw).

With the increase in cast speed yes it gave an edge to Casters in PvP, however the Cast speed has been LOWERED.

The cast speed is now sitting at around 1.5x speed which matches quite nicely the increased ability to gain a-speed for a warrior.

No sorry, you're wrong because Sanity says so. Even though he apparently isn't playing anymore, somehow he knows for a fact that classes are unbalanced.

Seriously?
Increasing casting time wouldn't effect the game? Maybe you could explain this to everyone then, how this dose not effect the game in anyway, please share with us, because all you have said is "Feels much better" and am sure it dose.

But yes, please share in detail why this isn't a massive buff towards caster? you work in the game industry so you should have good experience in this part.

Seriously :) - 4JStudios based in Scotland.

I'm fairly sure I've mentioned it multiple times during the thread.

The first thing I mentioned when referring to "it feels good" was the making a more Fluid style of play - There is nothing worse for a player than feeling like they are spending time doing nothing; In this case the 2-3 second delay between casting spells.

The second thing I was mentioning was more towards the end goal of as close to perfect balance as possible. The issue with this however is both PvE and PvP rely on using the same system.

Now on one hand we had Wizards who were power housing the entire PvP system with the 2x cast speed (Taos somewhat as well)
Warriors struggled due to a fundamental part of Warrior Gameplay mechanics (TDB) being broken, They were unable to utilize the full power of a DC kit.
GMs decided to drop the cast speed to Euro levels (1x) - This had a negative effect on Gameplay (Players were now going from a very short delay to upwards of 2-3 seconds per cast).
Warriors however had no change made to the speed in which they can attack (A-speed) which appears to be much faster and easier to obtain (With the ability to gem A-speed Items and the gem success rate being very high with no diminishing return)

Now Obviously this caused a the Wizard/Taoist community to be up in arms - Had they added the TDB changes (Along with the removal of autopot suns) and checked what impact that had on the PvP system first then fair enough. Instead we had a Buff to one side and a nerf to all Spell casting.

Due to the complaints from the userbase (All 3 classses be it for or against) they Opted to meet in a middle ground which we can safely say is currently in testing.

Edit: Just so you are aware I play all 3 classes as much as each other not just 1.

Ok you just told me the story on what has happened this past week, all you said was once again "It feels better", of course it's going to feel better, you increased your game time experience with this buff, which effects everything from EXP gains to Damage delt which means it's a huge impact on the game itself and effects all classes.

My problem with this buff and Tao is Healing, on bosses you shouldn't be able to kill with so little numbers you are doing, because your healing a lot more then you should, so your applying poison faster then getting back to healing again faster along with keep AC/AMC buff up, this is what you don't understand, everything changes when you mess with the cast time, open your eyes.

I am well aware everything changes, We are indeed healing a lot more I'm aware of this and would quite gladly see a change to the cast speed of certain spells (Lowering the cast speed of healing causing Taos to play a bit more cautiously is fine with me) that are causing imbalance not a global cast speed reduction as was put in place.

I have my eyes open, I've made it perfectly clear that certain spells need to have there cast speeds addressed (I have said this multiple times in this thread)
The idea is we mess with everything to find as close to a balancing point.

Clearly neither of us is right or wrong in our opinions (They are after all just that).

I have tried to keep this "Discussion" as civilised as I can.

What? Heals are applied over time and everything else you mentioned is refreshed on every 1-3 minutes. The time between casts for these spells is marginal and it really wouldn't make a difference when killing bosses at all.

Solo levelling with SFB, however...

And since when did most bosses ever need more than 2 people on euro either?

Personally I think the game should be as-official.

As a request, I practically beg that any changes made to the skills to appease those who'd want it faster/different (i.e. different to official), aren't hardcoded.

If it's still an aim to release these files, those who want differences can make them when hosting. Just as they can make npcs teleport themselves to krs.

Doing this by poll is pretty dangerous. It's like asking a community if they want cheat codes built in (not cos they want to cheat, but to be able to play the game at a rate that it's not originally intended, then quit).
