Nope, Can't change direction like this not without being force to walk because you clicked. (Pay attention to when the warrior shows up)

Works fine on a wiz, don't see why it wouldn't on an Archer.

I actually felt sorry for the Archer in that video, best he/she could do was force you to use 7 large HP pots, at no point was there a threat of you dying. If it is cheating all it's done is even the playing field, doesn't make me miss my Archer :P

I understand why he does not reply to many of the threads on here, some of you feel you have a right to play Mir, some of you have not grown up from when Mir first came out (the language some of you use is a disgrace)
The general attacks on the Team is also getting out of hand, if you want to help make the server better, go about it in the right way.
There is no need for name calling, report your problem, (the team do read the forum) and it will be added to the list and be sorted in time.

Maybe if so of you show a little respect to the team you will get some in return.

If the players didn't have a passion for the game, did not care and didn't want this server to succeed they wouldn't post at all and the server would die. Even if the team disagrees with most of what's posted they should still acknowledge it.

I do agree that the community on this incarnation of the game (or at least the vocal minority) has been by far the worst I've played with in any Mir server or MMO. I assumed after 12 years that Mir players would have all matured, if only a tad. It got to the point where I even stopped posting and complaining about issues I had as I started feeling sorry for the team/Sam. Meaning no disrespect to LOMCN but the community in this section of the forum has been a cancer for this server.

Right from the get go in beta communication has been an issue though, and IMO it's been a mistake for the Chronicles team not to create their own forum on their website to relay information/bugs/suggestions to and from the players.

So you can run in a circle using your minimap as moving without walking?

No, you set it running to the other side of the map and when someone's running after you, you target them with your mouse and spam skills. It looks like it does in the video.
Or course, he zig zags a bit at the start so I don't know if this is what he's doing, it was just a possible explanation.

melee shift pvp felt better b4 the changes... now lags when shifting near the target its so annoying

I am fed up of explaining this...

Due to the increased speed of the chronicles client... Melee shift + run CAN NOT work, it is a direct result of making the game faster and smoother...

I have been trying my best to HACK the original feel of melee pvp into the client, but without slowing the client down completely, which is pretty much recoding the client, it will not be fixed...

THIS IS NOT SOMETHING ANYONE CAN "HELP" ME FIX... It is a direct result of speeding up the client.

Ive seen these threads all over since launch and i realy can not see what the hell people are talking about, i can fight fine and the only issue i come across is every so often i lose lock, maybe im cheating and dont know! 0.0


or maybe whatever it is is such a small deal i can ignore it 0.o

First of all, thanks for replying.

I did not know you had explained this before so often enough for you to get fed up of it. If I had known that due to the increased speed of your server that retaining the old Mirstyled PVP was impossible, I'd not have gone to the trouble of asking you about it.

I am sad to hear it can't be fixed. If this is the case, I shall reroll my character as I still very much enjoy playing on your server.

I do feel I could help you fix, or give you sufficient feedback/information on if you're close to it or not, though. Sometimes having a second opinion helps greatly.

Why did you feel the need to speed the client up in the first place then? 1.9, 2.3, 2.6, & c# clients are all smooth and melee PvP on them is 110%

Well firstly it pre-existed in the original set of sources... If you want to know why it was done I can attempt to explain....

1.9, 2.3, 2.6 and C# all have a common feature... Their resolution is 800x600 and they are (no comment on c# has I have never played it) juttery, slow to respond and you can indeed see where each frame starts and finishes (because there is a jutter between frames)...

Although this juttering is barely noticeable at 800x600 resolution, it becomes far more apparent the higher the resolution you go, so each frame had to be increased to be able to provide the smooth feeling without juttering...

So, we weighed up our options, higher res, faster/smoother game play and a overall better feeling client (cept for shift hit) vs a melee being up to hit whilst running...

On heroes client this wasnt a problem and it ran at 1024x768 res and had no issues whatsoever.

As far as I remember (being one of the original developers on the heroes set of files that was released on LOMCN), it suffers from the same issue... No shift + run hit.

This was fixed on the server i played and warriors with their full armor piercing tdb were slaughtering everything in pvp.
the game litterally was like this. There is pvp....... aand there are warriors.

Also a sidenote i think this issue is known aswell but if you run with a character and you can't walk on for example another player etc the way you get stuck and are immobile is massive like the game makes it even laster longer then it should which in pvp as an archer there your walking path gets blocked by a warrior is just a 100% screwover and instant death if the warrior is any good.
