They obviously haven't tried a cigarette more then once. They follow the crowd by saying people smoke because they want to 'look' 'act' cool which is un true in most cases(so who really follows the crowd?).

I didn't want to act cool .. didn't have to impress anyone.
I enjoy smoking cigarettes once in awhile because the taste and feeling it brings.
Weed because of the smell it has and the nice high.
So before you say anything go outside and experience it, then feel free to post your opinion wich will actually be based on experience.
