Codec area on Windows Media Player? Help!

Codec error on Windows Media Player? Help!

I'm trying to watch movie files on Window's Media Player (Series 9). But I can't get it to work, the files I want to watch are normally .avi

When I start the movie it says "Searching for Codec" "Downloading Codec" "error with Codec"

I don't even know what a codec is! Can anyone help me with my problem?

click on download under "Mega Codec Pack" on the left side.

You can also search for Nemo's codec pack on kazaa it has everything practically.

Im sure I got bombarded by adware from the k-lite pack, for some 60188 mobile company. *sticks to Nemo*.

you could always convert it to another format? just an idear for ya
i use cucusoft avi to vcd dvd svcd not a bad converter easy to use just open the file rename out put file chouse wot format click start and its alll done well after a wile does take a fare amount of time depends on cpu speed......

My dad gets quite a few films every week but i dont watch most of them I rather going to the cinema to see them Much better tbh

Are you sure from that mega pack? ive been using it for a while and had no problems Wierd Eye's :weyes:

But ye some people don'y use kazaa so i thought i'd recommend something else too

...Well I choose the largest one there, installed on a clean system and a normal system. Both got the adware problem with Internet Explorer STRAIGHT after installation.
