Connecting to server

Up untill a few weeks ago i was happy and content editing the server on ym own ip. But i decided i wanted to host it. I started it all up but no body could connect. i sent the files to a friend he hosted and all worked fine. Now my BB service is Bt and ive been told they do not allow incomming connections. I was wondering if this was true and if not why cant people connect to my server

Merlin have you got a network cos im on a network and i tried hsting on my PC and ppl couldnt cnnect so i put it on the PC that host my net and ppl could connect then if not then i dont kno why soz

Merlin do you have your FW on / have a router. And i have Bt BB and it works fine on my comp =)

i would not recomend disabling your fw cause there is nasty ppl out there who would try and hack in ti your comp etc... just go in the firewalls settings and allow the ports that are in the server

No i do not have a firewall however my BT isnt properly installed. When trying to install BB the installation said i had 0 mb. So instead it just automatically added the connection in the internet settings. This maybe the reason i dont know

I use Server starter so IP is right and ive checked my Server names :/

Hmm make sure that all the paths in the server files point to the right place and that you have set everything up (BDE Admin etc) right. Failing that you might want to contact an expert and ask why its not working (in different terms than people carnt connect to my illigal priv server)

i got bt bb and when i make a connection for it, it automaticaly put the xp f\w on

go into network connections and click veiw network connections
and if theres a pic of a padlock on your connection

right click it properties then advanced then take the tick out
