For Vista use MSSQL2000
As for the autopatcher, use the .gz packing tool then upload the files and the !klist to either a FTP/HTTP site or both, then copy the address into KaoriPatchGZ.ini so it looks like this:

There's nothing wrong with SQL2000 on vista, the myths surrounding vista and SQL are just that 'MYTHS'
The reason SQL2000 just stopped could be down to numerous amounts of reasons.
1. Are you using the full version or the 130 day trial?
2. Did you let vista use activesync with SQL? *sometimes it needs refreshing but should be set to auto*
3. Have you changed the username or password on either SQL itself or in the !setup.ini?
4. Make sure, in service manager that its running, you may have paused it or stopped it. If its stopped then go back to option 1 and then download the full version of SQL2000.

when installing sql 2000 on vista there is a compatabilty window that pops up, it says you needto patch to sql before RUNNING IT EVER, this means you need to install it , reboot then get get patches then reboot between patches ater its all done it should work and thats even on the trial version of sql 2000.
I know it works on vista as i have had it running with 2.3
ive had vista with td files and 2000 2005 and 2008 and they all work

i have just installed windows vista installed sql2000 but when i open the Enterprise Manager and try and connect to the database it says it can not connect and yes sql server service manger is runing does any one no whats up with this please
