Okay, so you said that the Bible, which was written over 2000 years ago, has prophesied events that have come to pass since then, and you said that they're precisely written. Could you please back this up with some quotes - since they give precise details lets see some quotes of exactly what will happen, and a date for it from the bible. Personally i thought that the prophecy in the Bible was about as accurate as the weekly predictions for peoples star signs, but since you've said that there's precise detail in the bible, lets see some examples =).
You also said that events such as the 2nd world war were prophesied in the bible, i suppose that people knew that the 2nd world war was going to happen before it started then?
You then went on to talk about great cataclysms, diseases, hunger and so on, isn't it strange that all of these things have natural causes, either caused by there being too many people in poorer countries (for example in Kenya the average children that a woman has is 7) and their land not being able to support them, or otherwise caused by us releasing greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere, and so on. If the levels of greenhouse gasses went back to the level they were say 500 years ago, we probably wouldn't have so many storms, and there wouldn't be any rise in sea level - God isn't causing this though, it is caused by the folly of man.
Your next bit has me stumped, where did you get the idea that the concept of God is in our DNA, if it was in our DNA then we would all believe it, and how can there be a gene which makes us believe (unless there is one which makes us more gullible). I can see what you mean about the next part though, although I've never actually been to church (nor would i ever want to), i can imagine how frustrating it must be for someone of religious beliefs to see people of their own religion not doing what they should be doing. Nowadays i think that many people go to church out of habit, not because they strongly believe in their religion, and they also go to socialize and so on (these are just my personal opinions, not fact).
And now we come to holidays. How annoying it must be to see companies trying to exploit your religious holidays to make money - that's all that these days have become, the real meaning has been lost.
You then go on to talk about God doing nothing for wars and so on, I'm pretty sure that was my post that you got it from. What i was intending to suggest is that the people who wrote/edit the bible have included whatever stories there are in there about the reasons for God not stopping wars and so on, because otherwise it would be an argument against God (the fact that he's omniscient, omnipotent and so on, but doesn't help) - instead of coming up with rubbish about sin (i think that's the reason, I'm not exactly and expert on it) isn't a much more logical explanation that God doesn't exist. Oh and by the way since i am a child i guess I'm allowed to think that.
I'm quite sure that there are a number of passages in the Bible which are there just to provide a counter argument to any argument that people can come up with - they don't provide proof, they're just stories which are taken for granted.
Someone else said how can something as complex as a human eye just appear without being designed. Strangely enough the first organisms on Earth were single celled organisms which, believe it or not, didn't have eyes. Over time these have evolved to small animals, and so on, (which again can't see very well, if at all) but over a long period of time eyes have got more complex - remains of creatures have been found with eyes which are relatively simple, and over millions of millions of years, through many stages of evolution, the eye has become the complex thing that it is today.
I really am sorry for the long length of my post, and I'm sorry if I've offended anyones beliefs with this post, but it has to be said - i hope that i can convince you, but it is almost impossible to convert someone who is a devout God lover.
